So then why don’t we just let Vegas decide who’s the national champion?

You’re telling me that Bama taking down the reigning champions of a 20 plus game win streak matters the least.

I’m telling you that there is an undefeated power 5 champ that should get in above them. Wins and losses simply HAVE to matter.

Maybe. Don’t know if they don’t play. I remember attending the 1993 Sugar Bowl between Miami and Alabama and NO ONE thought Alabama belonged on the same field as Miami because they barely beat their opponents whereas Miami murdered everyone that year. The eye test would have told you that Miami was the bomb and Bama was the target.

Or how about Ohio State v Miami 2002? Or Ohio State v Florida 2006? They eye test is a deceptive way of saying “I think…”

Which it should. Liberty went undefeated. Are they a top 4 team? Same thing with power 5 conference.
Washington and Oregon literally beat nobodies all year. Same with Mich and osu. Playing little sisters of the poor all year long and going undefeated does not (entitle) a team to a top 4 ranking. As much as participation trophy kids that are adult now want it to be, that's not how life works. That's not how a job works. That's not how it works at a company.

All you can do is beat the teams on your schedule.

There are 5 power conferences and the undefeated champion of any of them has done something. In fact they have done all they can. They won every game.

Some want to assume that beating a SEC opponent means more than beating an ACC opponent.

At that point it becomes a subjective guessing game. An objective approach would consider wins and losses.

What an outstanding support of a playoff team

Would Texas, Washington, or Michigan beat Georgia or Alabama right now?

Which is why Alabama is out.

Who gives a shite? Why use hypotheticals when you have actual results to help your decision. FSU is an undefeated conference champion. They 100% are in

Bama lost to Texas at home by 10. I can’t see how they have a leg to stand on.

If the committee picks Bama over FSU or Texas, they will be taking perception of program over results on the field - therefore we would have a beauty pageant, not a competition.

Do we get the Bama from yesterday or the Bama from last week? FSU absolutely beats one of those.

As for schedules, why are people talking like UGA deserves a mulligan? They played 1 decent team this year and lost. Maybe they weren't that good and Bama's win wasn't that impressive.

FSU on the other hand, played their conference slate and 2 SEC teams. Let's not forget that our o-line got its arse whipped and were actually telling FSU D-linemen how great they were. They embarrassed us, including our vaunted offense. With time to prepare the 2nd team QB, I absolutely give them a chance against the other playoff teams (and Bama/UGA). I've thought they looked like the best team in the country all year (with Travis). I'm not convinced they aren't still.

Let’s not forget that FSU had *two* SEC opponents on their OOC schedule.
