Chizik was a failure at Iowa State prior to Auburn. While O failed at OM he then had two successful interim stints. Chizik didn’t recruit at O’s level.

It's hard to see anyone filling Burrow's shoes but Ed is on a different level recruiting than Chizik.

Auburn was weak in 2011. This 2020 LSU team is probably more likely to be 2012 LSU in terms of talent. Mettenberger never got going with the passing game because our scheme was so bad. But we suffered close losses in 2012 regular season. More likely to be like that than Auburn 2011

I think CEO knows he has to have good coaches around him on both sides. CEO is the CEO of the team and delegates.
Because is not trying to accomplish the DC role along with HC, he gets the coordinators he needs. He knew he had to get another OC or do something diff after Canada and then Slinger. The offense was not good enough. So he went out and got Brady.
Now did LSU have a transcendent player in Burrow similar to Newton? Absolutely. Totally different types of players and I think LSU will try to remain a passing team and looking for true passers.
Not to mention CEO is a great recruiter and this state is locked down and CEO is locking it down further.

We may take a step back and not win a NC or make the CFP for the rest of O’s tenure, but we’ll never go 3-9 like Chizik did at Auburn.
