No, good news, he got knocked around a little last night

Cooper Williams needs to transfer to Nicholls. He isn’t SEC caliber

His regression from showing so much upside last season is concerning.

Can we stop with this nonsense? Jaden Noot has stuck around and played a key part in a game in Omaha that got us to the finals with an eventual Natty.
He’s not proven (of course, injury galore a part of it) to be “SEC caliber,” but you see guys like this pop up in moments needed to make runs for a title.

He had a sub 2 ERA overall.
Shut up.

these are his numbers for the year...or close to it.
16 innings
17 hits
13 walks
I don't know how many hit batters or wild pitches.
But, those numbers just don't correlate to SEC level pitching ability.

You conveniently left out the 27 Ks in 16.2 innings.

It was a completely dishonest post & the OP should be ashamed for being a shitty person

Last year he still put a ton of people on base, he just had some Houdini acts to get out the inning without damage. There was one point this year where he was better than the prior season in every metric except runs allowed. It’s like the hitter who hits .300 with a ton of bloopers and perfectly placed ground balls. It’s not a repeatable.

Last year was definitely smoke and mirrors.
The K/9 means he’s not worth giving up on (long term), but he’s second to last on my lefty list for this year.

Yeah. And it's a guy I really like. Maybe it's the eternal optimist in me, but I still think there's something there with him and he can contribute to this program.

Haven't seen Primeaux in a while.

There's a lot of truth in this.
Last year he allowed 13 hits and walked 13 in 20 IP: 1.30 WHIP
This year he's allowed 15 hits and walked 13 in 16.2 IP: 1.68 WHIP
Yes, he was slightly better last year, but not enough better to have an ERA 7 runs less than he has this year. He has definitely improved in his K numbers. He's averaging 14.6K/9 this year compared to 9.4K/9 last year. However, his OppBA has gone from 0.178 last year to 0.231 this year, still not an unreasonably high number but higher nonetheless
I think, at the end of the day, as is the case with a lot of our staff, he is going to have to learn how to stop issuing free passes. 13 BBs and 4 HBPs in 16.2 IP this year is awful. It's so frustrating honestly. We're in the upper half of the conference in fewest hits allowed (5th in SEC play) and lead the nation, again, in strike outs, yet have one of the worst ERAs in the conference due to so many free passes issued. So the stuff is definitely there with our staff, we just can't throw strikes consistently.

His regression
From a team perspective it’s unreal that him and Noot gave us so much last June, and this year those two have been off listening to the echo returns.
