I think he’s better than OBJ. Chase is just bad arse

As a Rummel Guy, I want to say he is too.

But realistically what does he do better?

I mean OBJ was pretty prolific in a pretty mediocre offense.

They're both great at separating, and getting down field.

They are both great at catching the ball

They are both really great at going up on jump balls.

Chase is OBJ and Jarvis combined.

Didn't that offense have two 1000-yard receivers and a 1000-yard rusher? Not a bad offense by any stretch. Wasn't like this offense, but was pretty darn good. Defense not too hot on that team if I recall.

I really meant the system didn't do anyone any favors.

Chase just seems to get better separation. That’s just my opinion though.

Plus, Mett pretty much only targeted OBJ and Landry, hence the high numbers in an offense that Les was still technically letting Cam run.

it was still a lot of big heavy sets

a lot of blockers

and a lot of OBJ and Jarvis just having to go out and beat guys in coverage when they weren't in favorable numbers.

He’s as good as any WR to ever come here.

we ran a good bit of 3 WR sets, and would line Odell and Jarvis up on the same side a good bit, whether in twins when using 12 personnel or when in 3 wide sets.

We had an excellent offense in 2013. Jarvis Landry led the team in receptions, receiving yards, and touchdowns though. It's really hard to compare Chase to OBJ without being influenced by what OBJ has done in the NFL. Honestly, I thought Jarvis was better while at LSU.

Making projected future first round CBs look like assholes.

This is again really hard to evaluate without being biased by OBJ's NFL career. I think this is the characteristic that really separates both of them from many other receivers. With that said, I'm going with Chase on this based on what he did this year. The catch in the link below time stamped at 4:35 against Texas and then at 4:59 against Auburn are remarkable.

Eddie Kennison would have been a beast in the 2019 offense

2013 our entire offense was chucking up jump balls to OBJ.

And my point isn't really that OBJ is better, but he at least is just as good.

put him in this offense and look out.

He’s up there probably with OBJ

There wasn't much OBJ couldn't do.

Jarvis Landry, much? ??

Landry doin just like he did at LSU, quietly kicking arse and breaking records, without the quasi-gay and certainly douchey public antics of OBJ.

Man Reed a damn rb playing wr was pretty fricking awesome. He seemed to just bounce and spin out of everything. That was along time ago and he did not pan out as I thought in the pros but all year I wondered how he would do in this offense..... I kinda thought duvernay from texas reminded me of Reed squat and powerful but i guess that was like his only game that he seemed unstoppable.

When I saw him 2 seasons ago, I was like, "this kid catches darn near everything that's thrown his way."

He's definitely in the conversation. Thank goodness here's here for one more season.
