Kelly is doing what Orgeron wasn’t capable of doing! Have you not followed Dwight during his time here. I watched several videos of him acting like an illiterate bafoon during practices and workouts. Kelly wants discipline. Do you think that goofy shite would be allowed at Bama or Georgia’s practices? frick no it wouldn’t! Is Orgeron to blame for letting it get this far ? Absolutely!! If that’s the culture that’s acceptable by your coach then you can’t blame Dwight. He’s a great player , but he has a lot of growing up to do. Maybe he gets it at Arkansas or look for him to be hitting the portal again

As a Coach / Teacher myself, I can tell you,you start hard and you can ease up when you get their respect. But if you're too easy, you can never get hard on them and regain their respect.

No. There was a culture problem here

You give the head coach full control and faith to make the decisions to build his program

You have no idea whether cbk did this or not.

Try showing up late for work everyday and running your mouth to an asst. See how that works out for you. IF all the “rumors” are true then he don’t deserve to play for LSU.

Until he goes 15-0 I don’t want to hear it.

This board has major ODS. There have only been two 15-0 teams in modern college football. Only one in the SEC.

Someone feel free to bump this if Riley roasts our Nicholls/ULL corners with his 4/5* receivers.

Orgeron was known as the guy who was a true “players coach” by shortening practice time, giving players freedom to act and do what they wanted both football and non football related. That cool guy schtick bit him in the arse and his players didn’t give a damn about rules or respect. This cleanse will be great for the soul of the program.

If they do not want to work now. They will not want to work next season

The McGlothern deal has me a little concerned that Kelly has come in and tried to lay down the law from the get go instead of getting to know the team and earning their respect.
Umm, no .

MAYBE if something something sudden happened to Nick Saban and you're forced to replace him, the new guy comes in with that approach.

LSU just went 11-12 in the past 2 seasons. Kelly went what, 21 and 3 that same period.
This is HIS team, they need to earn HIS respect right now.

With the immediate transfer rule, you can’t be so heavy-handed even if your goal is to create a more disciplined environment. I’m not saying this is how it should be, but it’s how it is.
If they want to pout and leave, let them walk. Nobody who is less than a true junior played on the 2019 team. Nobody younger than that has accomplished enough to earn a pass. If they had, Kelly wouldn't be the new coach, Orgeron would still be here.

Kelly didn’t recruit these guys, and to come in and try to reverse everything about the O regime in one fell swoop seems unwise.

Everything about the O regime the past two years has been crap, and needs to go now. The sooner you do that, the sooner Kelly can do what he came here to do.

McGlothern has been a backup, who was on the cusp of being the starting corner going into 2022. HE had the chance to make his mark here, not in a game or 2 without Stingley and Ricks, but during a full season. He apparently didn't want to put the work in to seize that chance.

ETA: as much as we loathe him Saban has earned the right to be a tyrant. Kelly has to show why he should be followed.
Take a look at Kellys resume and where he stands as all time winning coaches. I think he has earned the respect he needs to overhaul the program the way he is.

If Brennan’s shoe doesn’t get caught in a dock we’re most likely coming off a 10-2 season.

To be clear I don’t think O was willing to grind at a championship level anymore and therefore a change was necessary.

So you’re telling the people who think he’s doing it right to wait for a game, but he hasn’t coached a game and you claim he’s doing it wrong.

How bout you listen to your own advice and STFU until we’re a good 2 years into BKs program.

You're overreacting. Nobody other than McGlothern and possibly Palmer are leaving because of this supposed hard line Kelly is taking?

And you have no idea how authoritarian Kelly was in the McGlothern situation. Supposedly, the kid had a couple of chances and possibly disrespected an assistant. You simply can't let that kind of stuff slide when you're working your arse off to change the culture of the program.

And none of this is about ODS. That's just dumb. Look at the state of the program. It's been a mess for two years. I'm not sure who you expect people to be pointing the finger at for where we're at.

You "presume" CBK didn't have to address similar issues at previous a stops.
Give him credit or at the very least, benefit of the doubt.

F@ck ‘em. Is Saban too strong with his players. Hate p@ssies with this attitude. Bandaid and rip it off. Get them some gone. Orgeron let the inmates run the asylum, prison and kitchen. F@ck that.
