(Technically still off-season since we haven’t played yet )

There are 3 OL from last years team that made NFL rosters and we were completely garbage at times last year. I know he came on late but I’m surprised so many OL made the NFL

Brian Kelly thinks so and he knows more than I do.

He’s coached under 2 of the best offensive line HC’s in the NCAA back to back so I’d say he knows a thing or two. What a dickhead post

Watch the UCLA game and then the A&M game and tell me the O Line didn’t improve over the course of the season. Considering that Davis didn’t get a Spring with last year’s players, I think he deserves credit for development in the face of a lot of injuries and rotating lineups.

Hines missed 5 games last year and some the year before.

Deculus was always solid not spectacular but played a ton.

Ingram was most talented guy we had, no surprise he's an NFL guy.

2.6 players don't make a 5 man OL, keep in mind TE was very weak and that plays a part there too.

He's definitely a good recruiter and the recruits seem to love him.

Good enough for Saban to try him. I think more than once.

We ran 2 running plays all year and our QB held the ball too much. Hard for your O line to shine.

Wasn’t he hired like 3 months before the season?

I had my doubts. Still a couple of shreds of doubt remaining that the next couple of weeks could whisk away.

- He's definitely amped up his recruiting

- There's lots of things that either enhance, or degrade, an OLs performance. QB play obviously. TE & RB play. Design, etc. Considering last year none of that was great with an inexperienced AND first year OC the overall performance last year can be discounted. But if you don't want to discount it... he did pretty good with a shitty hand and below par supporting cast.

- If I had to point to one thing, good or bad, could only pick one, to tell me how good Davis is, if I'd choose Dellinger. We're talking about Campbell starting this year (for good reason). Well, last year Davis took Dellinger, whom he didn't recruit, and had him as a true freshman starting in 4 games and playing in 12 with some pretty good results especially considering he was injured for 3, if not 4, of those games. He played RT. He also played at OG. Now, with Davis coaching him he is our starting C. A bad coach doesn't pull that off.

So that covers recruiting and coaching individuals.

What's left is coaching in-scheme, as a unit. I don't really have any doubts remaining he's just as good here. The only remaining doubts I have center around communication and the integration to the offense.

If communication is good and we don't see terrible line calls and regular, terrible blown assignments with a new system than last year and a new OC (again) starting another true freshman and a FCS transfer those doubts will be gone faster than a fairy's fart.

Seems like a good man. The players get behind him.

They were definitely out of shape. Having an actual coach who knows how to approach practices, nutrition and recovery will be a big factor in their performance. That was not the case with the last regime

Well,….he’s our OL coach, and is working with one of the winningest D1 college football coaches in the games history. I have faith in him.
