So are making a point he takes a lot of sacks? Or you suggesting like the other dude he is a good of a runner as Daniels?

I’m not a defensive expert but it seems like Texas had success disguising coverage, having a guy show blitz and dropping into coverage etc.

My point is he only runs about 6 times per game. He’s not a running QB.

In the few Alabama games I've watched, their right tackle seems to have a problem with speed rushers. I think Perkins might have a fun day out there.

I was watching SECN show that had a film analysis on Bama’s OL recently. The RT is AA. The LT is a freshman maybe and needs a lot of help from RB and TE.

As to the OP’s question yes blitzing is warranted for the following reasons:

1. Milroe holds the ball longer than any QB in the SEC.
2. Bama OL is not very experienced especially on the left side.
3. Milroe has trouble analyzing the field so putting chaos into his equation wont help him figure it out.

That sad, I would not overdo it and we have to maintain deep coverage if he gets out of the pocket. Put pressure on him he will make bad decisions.

Milroe can run.

He clocked a 4.6 in highschool. JD runs a 4.5

but by all means, lose your minds because I pointed out he runs very well.

Nobody’s losing their minds but you don’t gear your entire defense to stop roughly 6 plays throughout the entire game. I never said he was slow, I said he isn’t a running QB because he doesn’t run much.

Yes, it forces him to make decisions and he will make mistakes. House hates putting pressure on the QB. So I'm guessing we'll be rushing our standard 4 and generating no pressure. The rare times where we actually pressured the QB, good things happened.

No one said this.

Not insignificant, JD has 97 rushes. Milroe has 77. Since you're disregarding sacks... if Milroe runs 6 times a game, then JD would be around 8.

I think 2021 gameplan vs Gumps could work well against them.

Disguise blitzes and confuse the QB.

Has Matt House given you any indication in the past year and a half that he could scheme something like that? I haven't seen it.

Take out the sacks and he’s got some yards. He is very fast and big like the poster said

He’s very capable of busting a big one. Maybe watch a little more football

He's not quick footed enough to evade pressure so I say go after him and take the pressure off the secondary

a high risk/high reward overall defensive strategy would be best for this team IMO. Mainly because the offense will score points and if you get a few take-aways, or turnover on downs it could be enough to be decisive. Especially with the new clock rules that limit the amount of overall possessions.

Does it not make more sense to keep everything in front and make the tackle, essentially a bend but don't break defense?

does this look like a mother fricking john chavis or dave aranda defense to you? they were good at that. this D is not!

I think you have to give Milroe a variety of different looks that has him thinking. I think you have to blitz some but more than anything you have to disrupt his timing and get him off his game. Milroe's biggest weakness is he doesn't read defenses well and that's what leads to a lot of his bad throws, high throws and his interceptions. The number thing we have to do is keep containment and then the sacks will come. If we can't contain Milroe running, we lose.

Blitz wisely tho, pick and choose the right times are else they will burn us, he’s basically a rb and I would hate to see them make us look silly

Not really. Jayden can make you look silly . Milroe hasn’t ran for much yardage at all this year. He’s athletic and big but he’s not a make you miss guy like Jayden. Jayden looks like Lamar Jackson at times
