I hear all the reports that Ben will be entering the NBA after this season. Without demeaning his talent I think he should play college ball for at least one more year. I just haven't seen the toughness he'll need playing in the next level. He seems to spent too much time at point guard bringing the ball down and setting screens. I would like to see him spend more time working underneath for his base shots. He would also miss a valuable experience of watching tiger football, tailgating, chasing girls and just living the college dream. Of course money talks, but I don't see him in the same situation moneywise as some of the others. I have a feeling that he may be around to play another year. Call me a moron if you wish, its just my personal opinion.
No offense, but I think you are a moron.

Sure, Simmons could benefit from another year in college especially to develop his jump shot, but to think he would pass up millions of dollars to do is insane. I do not blame him (and who could) one iota for doing so. Plus, he will learn those skills from professional coaches all day every day without having to worry about classwork in the process. I do wish the rule was 2 years of school before going to the NBA but that's a separate argument.

Dude is gone. Development happens much faster in NBA. Those guys work on their game everyday. Simmons is going to be a great NBA. Just because you don't see how great he is doesn't mean he isn't.

{quote]Just on ESPN TODAY he was listed as number one pick. Why in the hell would he pass up millions and millions to play at LSU? What would that ever get him. Oh the number 1 pick next year. [/quote]
Agree 100%
You are the one that sounds like a moron.

OK, we all know that the OP is a moron. The question is, "What type of moron is he?"

You need to get on the phone with the NBA GM's ASAP and let them know they'll be making a mistake when they take Simmons first overall.

Johnny Jones undoubtedly develops talent better than NBA teams, this is true.

Yeah the NBA dream of big houses and fancy cars just doesn't compare to tailgating. Plus it's really hard to chase girls as a 20 year old millionaire NBA player.

1. What is a base shot?
2. You are absolutely a moron as it concerns this topic.

Wow. Someone else needs to grow up and quit acting like he would pass up millions bc he can't make a jump shot. You know how many 6'10 players in NBA have his skill set. I'll help you. 0. Not even durant has his skill set. Not saying durant is not better bc obviously he is but durant doesn't have the handles or vision Simmons has.
Simmons game was always made for NBA. NBA is different game than college. Way more spread out and open. I know most from LA haven't watched basketball before this season and probably never watched NBA.

If he needs to improve his ability, why stay in college with archaic and unorganized offenses, when you could go to the NBA an be taught by PROFESSIONALS that don't make you go to class.
Just a dumb dumb thread

I get what you're saying but you're wrong. Blake Griffin is 6'10 with excellent vision and ball handling abilities. Simmons may be a tad better in those categories, and I emphasize "may", but Griffin also has a really good jumper (which he developed in the NBA). But yes, his skill set is rare for a guy his size.

playing another season under johnny jones would surely enhance his stock
you know what, i'm leaning towards him returning

So I'm wrong. Simmons wingspan is probably 3-6 inches longer if I had to guess. Not to mention you said it yourself, Simmons is probably better in those categories. You know what else griffin is? An All star. Been an mvp candidate as well. Thank you for making my point. Also, griffin developed his shot and ball handling where again?? Oh yea, NBA! Where ball is life for them.

Less than 1
Simmons had a much higher vertical though according to Draft Express:
41.5 vs 35.5

It will suck going to the 76ers though. Ugh.
Posted on 1/21/16 at 1:23 pm to ewilliams000
I doubt he has plans to come back but it wouldn't be unprecedented either. Shaquille came back to play in 1992 when he was likely to be the number 1 pick in the 1991 draft... In 1991 he had been AP POTY and SEC POTY...
