no one's perfect bad snaps happen, but for a power 5 center worth a shite snapping should never be an issue.

an offensive line is only as good as their center allows them to be.

Hard to remember LSU teams so physically weak on the line until BK came along.

I am.

2024 line- the OT's were exceptional pass blockers. Average (at best) with run blocking. OG's, when healthy, good pass blocking and below average at run blocking (we never really pushed the pile). Once injuries occurred, it dropped a notch in both categories. Center was below average, honestly bad.
As a unit, when everyone was healthy it was a good pass-blocking line, and subpar run-blocking line. Nussmeier usually had time, but we rarely established the run, not to where it would pressure the defense to adjust.

Going into 2025, we lose Campbell's potential to stonewall any individual passrusher. Outside of that, we should be better across the board, which should mean a better overall line.

Being a physical team is a mindset and reflection of the head coach. That is why lsu has been soft under BK

No you won’t. Who cares, anyway? We all fricking hate your fricking existence on here. You’re a smug, racist, cocksucking a-hole who is about 1/millionth as intelligent as you’ve somehow convinced yourself you are. I’m not sure you’ve ever been right about a single thing on here. And if you were, you were likely such a fricking a-hole about it, that nobody engaged except to tell you how big of a fricking cocksucker you are. Go the frick way.

With Nuss’s stature and mobility, anyone not worried about losing two Tackles without known replacements is clueless

Legit concern. Maybe the biggest on the team

Mubenga definitely got much better after a couple of games. Your assessment was dead wrong, and our O-Line will be much improved next year.

It may be a better run blocking unit, but pass blocking it will take a step back. While Campbell wasn't as dominating a run blocker as we would have liked, he was an absolute elite pass blocker most of his career here. Nuss, either due to interior pressure or bad footwork, had a nasty habit of dropping into defensive end rush lanes, and Campbell would end up riding his DE like 10 yards down the field half the time.

I think we will improve greatly in the run game, just from obtaining the center alone. I am very optimistic that we will have a much better run game with this line, especially since we will have speedsters on the outside where we can take the top off. We didn't have that this past season until very late with Hilton. This will help in making the safeties drop deeper.

We will likely give up a little on the pass blocking, but also have much more experienced QB. People cry because Nuss didn't step up in the pocket last year....but what pocket? That is where all the pressure is coming from. Hopefully we shore up the middle and he can do that confidently this year.

I think that the line could have some talented pieces on it, but that means very little in the grand scheme. They have to play as a unit. A wall is only good if it's fully intact. Losing AA-caliber LT and RT is going to hurt, no way around it.

Totally agree, when at field level vs the big boys Bama, etc..they just look smaller and definitley played smaller. Supposed to be bigger faster stronger not smaller, slower weaker...the S&C has made this a finesse team which doesn't win in SEC league

Nuss is actually pretty damn good at moving around in the pocket to avoid a rush. We lost our LG, poor Center play, and had RG out against Florida, and the majority of our sacks came in that game against Bama...and A&M second half after our LG went out...and pressure started coming like open flood gates straight up the middle....the rest of the season we had very few sacks. He is also fairly Mobile. Hopefully they will let him run more this year. Nuss is the least of my worries.

Yes, but gaining a quality Center is also going to make a huge difference. The center is pretty much the most important piece of the line, and we were awful with him this past year.
