He's a thug but purple glasses LSU fans will defend him to the death
Curious if the same thing happened to Amari Cooper if they would be defending him the same

Always loved Landry more than Odell. After this incident, I lost all respect for him!!!!!but still love Landry!!!!

Sick of Odell?? Hell no...sick of hypocritical fans, no matter what team they route for...As if the people posting this shite are perfect human beings...
At 21 Odell came into the league and only playing 2/3rds of a season, became a household name, winning an ESPY. At the beginning of this season, he is the face of Madden, plays in the New York market where he has to by on 24/7...He has made a mistake and I suspect is humbled...I don't agree with what transpired with him last Sunday but I do know he is 22 years old....How many of you were flawless human beings at 22? Can we not take a wait and see position? Let's see how he handles himself moving forward before crucifying him???

And cutting his hair and leaving the dye out wouldn't hurt. Think Megatron...Fitzgerald, not TO or Dez.
So he needs to not be himself and not have his own style/personality. It doesn't shock me one bit how quick the majority of you flip on a player after one incident (An on the field incident mind you). Comparing this one on the field incident to the likes of Terrell Owens is comical and absurd.
quote:It really is true. Half theses people hated Tyrann Mathieu because he's a "Me first player" or "The whole honey badger deal has gone to his head". Now they want to praise him.
No fanbase hates their own players like the LSU fanbase

This board has hit an all time low with this post. OBJ is on record setting pace and you idiots trying to find a few reasons to hate the guy. He dancing/entertains and backs it up with his play...Yeah he made a few mistakes in a game now he is a bad guy? ... Miserable a$$holes in here.

Thug? ....Yeah tell us what you really want to call him.

Advertisements and media have put an incredible spotlight on him. Even his pre game, which he has done forever has become part of the tv coverage. So I see most of it as celebrity status created by his performance. I don't hold this against him.
The celebration over an opponent, are not acceptable to me. But celebrations are what people remember about Neon Deon and others like him.
The cheap head shot was wrong, and despite what was done to him, was still a dumb, reactionary cheap shot. He should apologize, and be forgiven for a mistake.

I haven't flipped on him. How do you know he's being himself? He didn't do the hair thing until he got popular. He's trying to create a brand. I get it. He just shite on his work last week. He can fix it. The TO reference is the diva status some WR's take. I think he falls into the other category, so let's not regress.
It's so difficult having a thought about this without some of you guys getting your panties in a wad. I don't care about Josh Norman or what he did. I'm emotionally invested in Beckham because he went to my school and he is an awesome performer. I really feel he will be OK after the dust settles. I hope the Giants win this week so he can make a difference in Week 17.

You're a stupid sonofabitch to be tired of a guy who went to your school and one of the best at his position at the highest level of FB.

I guess as LSU fans, we are supposed to just love anyone who once wore purple and gold? Even if they act like childish pricks on a weekly basis?
Got it.
yeah, I miss the good old days of Lawrence Taylor snorting lines of coke in the locker room before game . Or when humble guys like Jim McMahon was leading his team to super bowl championships. Those were the days....but yeah, it's a generational thing, sure. Football players are ENTERTAINERS. Their sole purpose for having a job is to be a "look at me" player.

The guy has made some mistakes and is still very young. I'm sure you would have handled being the biggest young name in a multi billion dollar industry with pure class and no hiccups, right?
You're damn right I would have handled it differently, and for one reason - my parents would not have allowed it.

People hated on jmarc just because he was overweight and played for a shite franchise. I don't know why people defend Odell.
because odell actually gives a shite and his play on the field shows. jamarcus is arguably the biggest bust in draft history and also had issues with drugs. the only knock on odell is he's cocky. big deal

I've read a lot of things on this site that embarrassed me.
This is high on the list.
So, we insist that successful athletes from LSU comport themselves like Ward Cleaver after they go to the pros?

haha you must not follow the nfl. landry has been much more of a diva wr than obj. been in several fights with coaches and his own teammates. several personal fouls that have cost his team. threw a fit about no getting the ball, in a game his team won.
but espn analysts havent formed that opinion for you yet so you think hes great.
