Starting after the 5 runs 1st I was waiting for someone to post something referencing the run output tonight as to why this is a dumb thread. It always happens during the midweek.

I've been looking at the numbers and if we don't score more runs than we scored in the Sunday game against South Carolina then we probably will not make it to Omaha.

yea our hitting is horrible, all those games we won this year was just pure luck, no talent at all

Last year, their problem was they were a singles-hitting team that didn't run the bases well and that's a big reason why they couldn't keep up when Stony Brook, a team that could hit with some power, started putting some runs on the board on them and they couldn't match it.

This year, it looked like they had solved that problem with Katz having his big year and Bregman hitting with some power. BUT, with both of them slumping a bit, they are back to being a singles hitting team that doesn't run the bases particularly well.

Bottom line, I think Bregman and Katz break out of their slumps and they start getting more big two-run doubles and putting up more 3-to-4-run innings.

It's good for them that they scored 11 against UNO tonight, but let's face it, it was UNO. lol

Your analysis of the stats are correct. However, I personally feel you're overreacting to this analysis. The only proof in this pudding is when regionals and supers come around, I'd be willing to guarantee this team makes Omaha & if they get a couple of breaks will win the whole damn thing.

Hitting with RISP is luck. Name all the players who are consistently good at hitting w RISP. LSU was good at it in the beginning of the year, bad the last few weeks. Law of averages will most likely catch up with us in the coming weeks.
