Except for some timely hitting it seems to me our lineup is getting better. Jones and McMullen are hitting well. Rhymes has raised his avg. Just need Katz and Bregs to get hot again. Ibarra has been consistent .350 all year. He'll Laird got 3 hits Saturday.

Yes! Those four are five hit games against pitchers that are not that good happens too often! This should not happen as often as it does with the quality line up we have!

Why do people from North LA use so many exclamation points?

Hitting against above-average pitching - yes, concerning.

Hitting against below-average pitching has accounted for the BA being a little exaggerated imo.

So, we don't hit as well vs. elite pitchers? Interesting.

People are blinded by all of our great statistics. We're struggling with timely hitting and clutch hitting IMO. Not struggling but not at a championship level. I think that once Katz gets going again it will shore up our problems

aTm's defense was really good this weekend. They seemed to be playing much better than their record.

Not as interesting as our friday night starter being 10-0. We've knocked around every teams best starter except maybe one or two.

Combined with our pitching and defense we hit well enough to win it all. We've been in a little slump but what we've seen the last few weeks is closer to what our lineup is capable of. The incredible hot streak we were on for a few weeks skewed the perception. Bregman and Katz weren't going to hit .450+ all season, Katz wasn't going to stay on a pace to hit 30 HRs and drive in 100 runs, Laird wasn't a .350 hitter, etc.

But it's still good enough.

On a positive note, we are putting the ball in play, but just like Saturday and against USCe, we're hitting it right to them or get in jams where we leave a lot of base runners on.

I think you just answered your own question

I went to the game Saturday and the hitting was shaky against a 11-14, 26-22 team and their Friday pitcher only gave up 5 hits against us.

People that don't understand baseball are so annoying.

Making broad judgments based on one baseball game is idiotic, at best.

Sorry if this is an overreaction.

What would the team batting average need to be for you not to start threads like this again?
