If LSU were to run the table in the SEC tourney, would they have a shot at a top 8 national seed?

If they win the SEC tournament...yes, easily.

If they get the RPI to at least 10 then there's a chance.

Anything else, no.

I want to say no, but after that Nashville massacre I am not going to bet against it.

The only path to a national seed is winning the SEC tournament. If they make a solid run, they’ll host a regional. Especially if they manage to knock off Tennessee somewhere along the way.

Win the tournament beat Tennessee along the way yes. But that’s our only shot and not guaranteed.

NO!! We just got swept the week before last. We would climb to a #9-#10 seed, and host a regional.

Don’t we do this every year? And every year, don’t we grossly overstate the impact the SEC tourney has on seeding?

Maybe I’m misremembering, or maybe I’m thinking about basketball… but it seems like I remember this board constantly overhyping the impact the SEC tourney has on final tourney seeding. At this point, we’re only going to see marginal changes, not full scale ranking climbs.

Not totally out of reach but it’s on a high limb.

I think it would take winning the SECt.

Win the SECT, possibly. Can’t be one without it.

Didn’t we just get swept at home by Ole Miss?

It’s amazing how dumb some of you people are.

Running the table still doesn’t put us as a national seed imo. But it would keep us out of a Knoxville, Corvallis super regional and closer to a college station one.

We’re hosting a Regional even if we get blown out 10-0 twice in the tournament.

We locked that up when we swept Vanderbilt.

Not completely out of the picture but they would need to win the tourney and have several other teams not win another game.
