I am not worried about the season or anything, but this is a flat, lackluster performance. I guess figuring things out now is good for the long haul. But shoot.

The premise of “the catcher getting over on the Ump” is bullshite. If the ump watches the pitch, takes his time and watches the catcher move his glove back to the strike zone he knows where the pitch crossed.
If all umps started doing this it would stop catchers from doing that crap.

Pitches like that on the edge of the strike zone are absolutely helped by a good framing by the catcher.
