Easily! We’ve had some great ones, but he is the best, hands down!

JaMarr is the best WR in LSU history easily. And it only took him 25ish games

Josh Reed 2001 season

1,976 yards and 9 tds in 13 games

Chase in 2019 season

1,780 yards and 20 tds in 14 games

Well, obviously those statistics point to Chase, but Chase was so much more than statistics. He was the life preserver for that LSU offense. The few times they actually were in a dogfight Burrow just put it up to Chase, even though Chase was covered by the best corners in college football. And what happened? Chase treated those first round NFL starters like they were children, just as he is treating the NFL corners in this his rookie season.

The game was totally different when Reed played too.

Put the crack pipe down. One amazing season (2019) doesn’t make Chase the best WR in LSU history. In 2018, Chase had 23 rec, 313 yds., and 3 TD’s. In 2020 he never played a down choosing to opt out. The best in LSU history needs to be judged by their entire body of work, not a single season.

I'm not going to criticize him for opting out in 2020

We don't have 2019 without his contributions

You make a good point. Just what do we mean by the best in LSU history? What I mean is, Who was the best player, not who contributed the most. By my standard, only a fool would argue against Chase. He will be the first LSU WR inducted into the NFL HOF. He is one of the top 5 WRs in the NFL his rookie year, and he will be the best in the NFL very soon. These things cannot be said of any other LSU receiver.

I don’t say this as any kind of slight to Chase, but if you think Chase was more indispensable to the 2019 offense than Reed was to the 2001 offense we’re going to have to respectfully disagree.

They spent the whole 2020 NFL draft trying to say which NFL CB prospect played the least bad vs Chase in 2019.

I would of quit to with how garbage last years team and this years team is. Business decision you’ll learn one day. Money over that team all day everyday. Anyone with a brain could make that decision

Is 11 extra TDs better than 196 extra yards? Yep.

Slow your roll. OBJ was incredible his first few seasons and he ain’t going into the Hall. Longevity matters.

I agree..but we’ve had receivers that if they got to play in that offense with Burrow would have done pretty well.

Wendell Davis in the mid 80’s had a 1244 yard 11 TD season in only 11 games. Again..in the 80’s. He was virtually unstoppable.
