The next batter ran inside the line even more egregiously. Jared Jones gave him the stare down and motioned toward the running lane like he was saying “Dude..the batter before you was called out and you do the same thing?”

that doesn’t matter, he was outside the runner’s lane most of the way towards firstbase.

Jones looked pissed and motioned for him to run on the other side next time
Yes, and right after that, Jones turned his back to the plate while the runner was at third.

Didn’t have to. Have to run inside the double lines the whole time. It was interference well before the contact.
Did it a few times, actually

such an obvious call and the TV guys never mentioned it
Was driving me crazy. Who cares about where his feet are when he literally swung his arm in front of the glove. They rambled on and on and on and on, not a single mention of his intentional left arm.

quote:LOL, horrible take by Matt. All you would have to do is every time you are running the bases is stick you arms out in an attempt to the knock the other team’s gloves out of the way.
Yet Matt Moscona said it was questionable. I am just about done listening to this guy's baseball takes.

They got it right on the replay. Contact doesn’t always equal interference. Hard to tell if it was intentional or not (ala A Rod). What was unquestionable about the play (and the next) is that the runner was clearly running inside the baseline. If there happened to be an error or poor throw on the next play, JJ would’ve challenged and that guy would’ve been out too.

Yes, I said during the game that he did that on purpose. His elbow was above his head. Nobody runs like that.

quote:they did mention it. They said that a runner hitting the glove is not against the rules, necessarily. Then, they moved onto to the obvious call that was called.

I think he was trying to veer back into the lane, which is why his arm came up so high.

More ridiculous is Jay had to challenge it for umps to get it right
The very next runner did exact same thing

You’re so right. It was OBVIOUS enough to see in real time w/o needing the replay but the UMPs either didn’t see it (blind) or were too afraid to call it out.
I honestly didn’t think they were gonna make it right even with the replay.
