Brennan’s release is light years faster than Burrows. This will show sooner than later. Maybe this weekend.

Great! Look forward to seeing if that's true in a year or 2

The issue people don’t realize is that stats like this can be tweaked to say whatever you want. It’s been two games, one of which was against a horrible team and LSU’s offense struggle mightily. OL issues are a part of it, but Burrow is also a big part.

As others said, he holds on to the ball often and has late releases. He can clear do the quick release thing as he’d shown good accuracy, but he’s very inconsistent. That is the difference btw him and other top QBs.

They are more consistent, while his variance is higher.

Same. He's definitely not the problem at all.

Regardless of how this game goes, under no circumstances whatsoever do I want to see Brennan come in to play in this environment. Barring an injury to Burrow, this decision would be asinine.

Agree 100% with you guys. Burrow was way ahead of Haskins and Martell at Ohio State. Burrow left because Meyer would not decide - Burrow way outplayed them in the Spring game. But, it was clear that Martell and Haskins would transfer if Burrow was named starter.

Haskins and Martell are now combined at 82% completion with 10 TD's and 1 INT. And those guys would be under 50% with LSU's O-Line and WR's and with these slow-developing pass routes.

It expect to see big improvements in LSU's pass game - but this "Burrow holds the ball too long" is pure horse shite

I think you would have a difficult time finding video of Jordan Jefferson throwing the ball away. I'm not sure if he ever did. Just saying

In fact, all of Harris' throws may have been throw aways!

. If true that Burrow was way ahead of the other two qb’s, Meyer would have called Burrow the starter. I don’t know why you think Burrow is so great, he has started 2 games and LSU’s offense is ranked #14th in the SEC. SEC Offense

Just watch the first half of each game. Maybe the first quarter and half the second of the SELA game. He looks amazing.

Just don't watch the second halves...

Here is Joe in the Sela game.
LINK

The Miami game is on there somewhere as well.

The team packed it in after halftime in both games. Which is concerning on its own

Wrong, Slim. Meyer promised Burrow's family he would announce a starter within a week of the end of Spring practice. Meyer failed to. Burrow announced he would leave a couple days after.

Meyer was screwed. Either Burrow was leaving or Martell and Haskins were leaving. Burrow had 2 years left. Haskins and Martell had 3 and 4 years left. Meyer thought maybe he could string Burrow along through the Summer and keep all 3 QB's - didn't work. And if Haskins and Martell transferred, Burrow would be the ONLY healthy scholarship QB (Baldwin has ACL issues)

And QB's are transferring all over the NCAA. LSU had 2 leave last month.

Don't call BS when you have no clue what you're talking about.

One quick observation is Joe does hold onto the ball a tad long, he has to adjust his clock to get rid of the ball faster.

Changes have to be made..Auburn defense is too good...the first two games LSU played great defense , won the turnover and field position battles, Brossette has been very good, and the kicking game has been phenomenal ..
That won’t be enough though against Auburn - the offense has to show up today

To be fair, in order for the analysis to be used in comparison, you have to back out the drops on the other teams as well. But I get the point.

Throw it faster? Where's he gonna throw it? If the WR isn't open yet (as in too many slow developing routes).

Only 2 options when the WR isn't open.

1) throw it away - Joe does that

2) Throw a pick - Joe rarely does that

Answer: Shorter, quicker routes til the DB's cheat up - then throw the longer stuff

It's unfortunate that Burrow is comparable with Stidham, because tRant has been saying all week that Auburn's QB stinks.

But beat the WareagleBarnTigers!

Our OL is historically bad. Like, really, really bad

They were vs SLU. Hopefully getting Charles back, moving Deculus, and getting Traore (the biggest of the problems) off the field will at least get them back to ok. They at least showed flashes vs a good Miami front.
