Interesting Topic, Ensminger vs Canada, who you got at the end of season?

Admittedly, I am a little concerned that Canada's offense may be too gimmicky at times. I am also concerned our team will lose some of it's physicality with regard to running the football.
I personally think that Ensminger ran dam near the perfect offense for LSU based on our QB limitations. The numbers back that up. We brought just enough creativity (midseason) to pose an attack that was effective and controlled the football game, which to me is an incredibly important aspect that often gets overlooked. Think of the impact that alone has on the success of your defense.
We have seen numerous "creative" type offenses come and go in the SEC. They are sometimes successful for a few seasons, and then they just roll over and die. what makes this one different?
So my question is, at the end of the season, what are the numbers going to say? Looking at the season objectively, will Ensminger or Canada have the edge?
I personally hope that Canada and O were smart enough to analyze last season and see there was so much that worked and merge the best of both worlds.
So.... who you got?

All I know is that Ensminger deserved the Presidential Medal of Freedom for the job he did on short notice last year.

Yikes
You think this is that far off base? is that because you think Ensminger did a horrible job or that you feel Canada will be that much better?
After all, LSU broke numerous records on offense last year, some in incredible fashion.
Thus, it sounds as if you expect Canada to re-write the record book again?

No, they don't.
We played two legit teams last year, one of which was heavily injured, and our offense sucked in both of them. Ensminger did an admirable job taking a trainwreck of an offense and making it decent on the fly; however, he is just not a top tier caliber OC right now.
For the life of me, I just don't understand why our fan base wants project coaches when we are a top 10 type school in the country.

It's the go to response right? Instead actually looking at the facts and discussing the topic?
Florida should not be lumped with the BAMA game because we put up a lot of yards , but the turnovers killed us.
So you evaluate a SEASON and the success of the offense on the BAMA game alone? Perhaps we can re-visit this after the BAMA game this year. When Canada continues to try the sweeps and get outside. And remember, he has the same QB to work with, and BAMA will without question force DE to make throws to beat them.
Hey, I don't knock you. I am just as anxious as you are to see the results and am hoping for the best.

Per the NCAA Total and Rushing defense:
Missouri was 118th in total defense and 112th in rushing defense. They were dog shite.
Southern Miss was 15th in total defense. Oh snap sounds good... except the were 46th in rush defense. Yet again, LSU was designed to win those games with Miles and Cam Cameron.
Ole Miss was 111th in total defense and and 120th in the nation for rushing defense. Yet again, dog shite.
Alabama was 2nd in total defense, 1st in rush defense, and we didn't do a damn thing against them.
Arkansas was 76th in total defense and 94th against the run. Congrats, they suck.
University of Florida was 5th in total defense. That being said, they finished 39th in rush defense, so yet again we should have been able to put more than 10 points on them.
Texas A&M was 90th in total defense, 80th against the run. They suck.
Louisville was 14th overall and 12th in total defense. That is his best performance on the resume. Good, but not hand the keys of a top 10 program OC good.
So, in short, he played 1 fantastic defense, one great defense, and one good defense, and the team only looked good in one game.

You kind of have to run a gimmicky offense when your playing with mostly two and three star players and are out gunned talent wise. That one of the big reasons why the spread offense became so popular. It is a way of masking a size and talent disadvantage.
Canada's offense will have a ton of pre-snap looks and motions regardless, that's part of his identity. He knows the talent he has though and will put our most talented guys in one on one situations and let them win it.
A lot of the pre-snap stuff is window dressing for a relatively simple offense that's based on getting our best guys into favorable match ups. Not worried about that aspect of it. At least we know that we have an OC who will actually change things if they're not working

The one that was a finalist for the Broyles Award.

The offensive play calling in the red zone against Florida was AWFUL.
Seems to me that our offense did well against those teams we were more physical than and more talented. Like a typical Les Miles team, with less restricted play calling.
Florida aside, Ensminger played to common sense and the demands of the LSU fans. Genius was not involved.

We had over 200 yards both passing and rushing versus Florida. Since when does that suck. Alabama...yes that sucked. I feel the Alabama game plan was unimaginative and, imho, cost Emsminger the OC job. The Florida game was dominated by us except where it counted. As to the OP, give me Canada. He gives us the best shot to beat elite defenses imo.

As well as the teams we played. Short answer, their defenses sucked. Bad.
Ensminger did fine, let's not blow it out of proportions

I'm sorry but I don't think I've ever seen an offense quite like Canada's. At least not ever in the SEC.
