Team Burrow is not enamored with the Bengals organization. Carolina's owner is a hedge fund dude with money to burn. Brady is already there. TIFWIW.

Can't argue with that sentiment.

How the hell would Carolina get him? Bengals don’t want Cam Newton

The Panthers would have to give up like 4 first round picks to move from 7 to 1

They’d have to give up two first and two seconds, two years in a row. No way unless he threatens to hold out. Would be a bad look for a hometown boy.

Well it was Chris Childers (not Neuheisel) that passed on that information. Neuheisel said he didn't like to hear that.

The last trade for #1 overall was two firsts, two seconds, and two thirds. They gave back a fourth and a sixth.

That was for Goff, who isn’t as clear of a #1 as Joe.... so expect that to be the baseline for a trade unless Joe says he doesn’t want to play there.

Honestly, it sucks either way. I hate to see Joe end up in that cesspool of a team in Cincinnati, but then I’d really hate to see my Saints play him twice a year and have to root against him.

Right but nobody knows who Childers is.

When Eli Manning was going to be drafted by San Diego, I believe, he said he wouldn't play for them. How did he wind up in NY with the Giants?

San Diego traded him for New York’s first overall selection (Phillip Rivers). There may have been some other pieces, but that was the deal.

In some ways it worked out for both sides.

If the Panthers have to give up a bunch of picks to get Joe, they will become the Bengals of the NFC with the quickness.

They have a horrible roster and need more picks, not less, especially with Keuchly's retirement. If their GM makes that trade, he deserves to be fired before the ink is dry on the paperwork.

Or Burrow would have to sit a year. It’s not ideal, but it’s doable. Family isn’t hurting for money. There could easily be some bsckdoor agreement made.

IMO, the Panthers will go for Tua or Simmons

I will never root against Joe Burrow. I care 1000% more about LSU than I do the Saints.
