Also amusing are the guys crowing over the offense because it scored 27 points,
You do realize that one can be critical of a few of the offensive difficulties and STILL not be retarded enough to say it's the SAME offense, right?

Ok, its a different offense, but it produced much of the same results. Its appears we will be a power running offense with a little passing thrown in. That might change as the offense develops, but it didn't Saturday night.

So you think 4 trips to the red zone with only 6 points to show for it is not putrid.
Are you cherry picking red zone stats now? We did score some touchdowns you know.

You do realize that BYU couldn't hang with our offensive and defensive line Saturday night, right?

Yes the run vs pass was very Les like. But only a few idiots fault Les for running when it was working. Les's fault was running into a 9 man front repeatedly when it wasn't working. Until O and Canada does that stupid crap I will not complain about destroying another team.

They tried to spread the field which is a huge departure from miles days

That, and the runs, blocking scheme, use of misdirection, etc etc etc were all different.

And no, it didn't produce the same results.
1. The defense didn't sell out when we lined up because they weren't sure where the run might go

2. The QB completed > 80% of his passes for the first time since a 9 of 10 effort in 2011.

3. 3rd down conversion rate was improved.

4. We completed 3rd and long twice via pass. That only happened 4 times.......ALL LAST YEAR!

I could go on but saying it produced the same results is retarded.

red zone offense

That and penalties were the only flaws in the offensive performance, but there was a lot of good that far outweighed that. Etling looked much better than last year. The OL, which is our biggest trouble spot, performed extremely well. We had no turnovers. The offense was only stopped twice. A missed FG and two clock-killing situations at the ends of the halves were responsible for three of the five non-scoring drives, and one of the two legit stops was on 4th and goal at the 1.

I don't think I am. 3 of 7 red one trips were touchdowns. That's 42%. 5 of 7 were scores, that's just over 71%. If it's not putrid, it's certainly not good.

Look. I'm not displeased with what I saw, I just don't think it's the spectacular tour de force some are making it out to be. I think it will improve and I really like the zip that Ettling has this year. I'm more optimistic now than I was before the game. But the red zone scoring needs to improve.

Weird how BYU didn't know to load the box but instead played 2 deep the entire night. Every team that beats LSU loads the box and makes us pass.

Last night, our red zone offense was putrid; the play calling was poor and the execution worse. We would have been all over the former coaches about this. Why are we giving the new coaches such a big break?

Hey dipwad, if somebody calls you and idiot don't take it personally. He's actually giving you a compliment.

It was a good win over a bad team. We ran the ball 2/3 of the time much as we have done many times in past years. Our QB play was about as good as it gets when you pass 17 times. The defense was outstanding against a team that has struggled badly on offense in two games.

I don't know why some get upset if not everyone is ready to proclaim our new offense a sure fire success after one game against a bad team. The same stuff was said last year when we were setting records against bad teams to later see us only score ten points total in two SEC games played in Baton Rouge.

Can we play a few SEC games before we suggest Canada is an offense whiz kid? Love to see it, but I am not as easy as some seem to be.

We ran it 77%. I can only find one game through past several years where miles ran it that much.

It's going to be very run heavy, especially against Bama

Then we will get destroyed. Do we need to go through the last 5 teams to be Bama?

Clemson threw it 57 times. (in not suggesting we do that lol. But you get the picture. )
