Hey Jabril, why don’t you jump into the fray and fill a gap with a thump or two. Don’t be scared, it’ll be aight

Tennessee was the second game of the season, a season in which players were literally housing relatives in their apartments and the campus was a triage center due to Katrina. Even then they got it fixed after game two. We’re going on game four this year and they continue to play like shite.

Tennessee was the second game in 2005. Mizzou was the third game of this season. It’s not an awful comparison.

LSU gave up 440 yards per game and 5.3 yards per play through the first two games in 2005. The rest of the season, they gave up 235 yards per game and 3.9 yards per play. It was a huge turnaround.

2005’s defense had 7 returning starters. 2020’s defense has 3. Of those 3 returning starters, one didn’t play in week 1 and one was out for the season after 3 games last year.

I’m not saying I expect to only give up 200 ypg the rest of the year (as great as that would be) but I do expect the defense to get better.

ETA: Fixed a mistake. Also, let me just reiterate that Jacoby Stevens and Todd Harris were our only returning starters on the field for Miss State, and Harris hadn’t played in a game since September of 2019. I get it, the scheme was bad. But you can’t just ignore the attrition.

is this first time in Pelinis career are kids not picking up the defense and having issues running said defense?

Was it the Pelini defense at Nebraska?

The talent at LSU and Nebraska is a bit different. Well, maybe not this year because the depth is something terrible.

But that’s been the boards MO since it’s existence. There’s not more than one thing going on other than “the scheme is terrible, Fire the coach.” There’s NO POSSIBLE WAY it could be anything but Pelini being terrible and he should be fired through 3 games with a defense full of freshman and sophomores and about 3 weeks of installment practices.

I don’t know if this following statement is very encouraging at all:
