if les miles is "as involved" in the offense as he has been in the past, then you can expect the offense to operate about as well and produce about as it has in the past. les needs to swallow his ego, and let the OC do his job. We sign a ton of offensive talent every year, and our offense, if you could call it that, ends up being in the bottom of the league stats year after year. It will be apparent in a few months, and early in the playing year at that.

You talked about the reluctance to bench JJ. Im dorry, but Lee played a shite ton fir a back up. You also say this offense needs a dual threat. So if Mett struggles one game we should switch qbs? Les Stuck with mett last year and he has no escapability. He is going to play the qb he thinks gives us the best chance to win. Has nothing to do if the qb can run or not.

I didn't mention JJ and I said that we need a dual threat offense, not a dual threat QB. The running threat comes first from the RBs. The passing threat has to come from the QB. If the QB can also run, that is a bonus, but he must first be a passing threat.

As for Mett, he should not have been benched because we didn't have a credible replacement. The point of my post is that I hope we have serviceable backups in the future.

With the level of passing game coordination going on at LSU over the last 5 years, JJ was our best option, hands down.

Holeeeeeee crap

Miles benched the SEC pass efficiency leader for JJ. He got what he deserved on 1\9

And now he wants to act like it was the QBs fault

I think you misinterpreted my snide post.
Miles knows that he is responsible for our sub-par QB play.

Miles is responsible, and locates the curve balls thrown at him, hitting a few out of the park.
Katrina, Pelini, R.P., Shadygate/Krags, and 2012 OL all could have been serious downturns in many programs, yet Miles has batted .800 through the adversity.

You should be so responsible and make an effort to post less than 100% snide garbage, heavily coated with psychobabble.

As long as Cameron is at LSU, your Tigers will not be short handed at QB anymore.

I expect your recruiting program on the offensive side will definitely improve for QBs--Cameron will make sure of that or will leave.

You need to have 4 to 5 QBs on scholardhip at all times.

Your problem is you beleeve there would've been a 1-9 had JL not been benched.

Both QBs had roughly the same efficient rating going in to the championship game.

I'll let you take a guess who had the worse efficiency rating against Alabama with 14.53

Sounds like he's excited about Jennings. Talked more about him than any other player.

You don't say. This is like telling me Bill Cosby likes Jello brand pudding. Jennings is who he thought Jefferson was, and we know how he would literally sink his own ship giving Jefferson every chance in the word, so imagine what he will do to find a way to play Jennings.

Words to the effect that with better QB play, we might have had four national championships in the last 8 years.

I'm thinking it's got to be 2007 (already have), 2009, 2010, 2011.

2007: Already won it, better QB play... I dunno, we beat Arkansas? Flynn wasn't 100% that game. Wouldn't matter either way.

2009: Florida is beatable with a competent QB. We got dominated that game but only lost 14-0. A good QB makes us more competitive and we might win it. Alabama might have been beatable with a good QB. Definitely not a sure thing, but we lost by 9 with shite QB play. And then the clock debacle at Ole Miss doesn't happen with a good QB ignoring the coaches and running the 2-minute offense like he knows what he's doing. It's definitely no sure thing, but "might have happened"? Sure.

2010: We had close losses to Auburn and Arkansas this year. A good QB could conceivably put us over the top.

2011: I couldn't even begin to imagine the complete domination that would have happened had 2011 had a real QB. With the way Bama played in November we might have won in regulation, and we might have been able to move the ball and make 1/9 a game.

That's my stab at it, anyway. For the record I don't think better QB play would realistically have brought home 3 more championships and made us a dynasty. I think at the absolute best LSU could have gone back-to-back in 2010-11 with an NFL-caliber QB. There were just too many losses too many years to say realistically that we definitely would have bagged that many more titles.

I am really happy to hear Miles is really happy with Jennings, though! Here's hoping the pass protection is strong this year so he gets a year of development before being thrown into the fire. He's gonna be a good one!
