It amazes me how people on this board can know so little about football yet feel so confident that they know better than the head coach. Do you really believe that Brian Kelly doesn't know how good Nuss is? Do you really think he would jeopardize his job by not playing the superior quarterback just because Daniels is "his guy"? Give me a fricking break.

I remember in 2014 the same idiots were calling for Brandon Harris to be the starter because he looked SO amazing in garbage time vs MSU. Look how that turned out

Maybe BK doesn’t think that the backup quarterback is the answer?

Maybe, lack of experimentation and trial and error is the reason Kelly has never won a National Championship.
When Saban sees a problem he looks for a change.
His method has been more successful than Kelly's, wouldn't you admit?

He's scared of the what if's. If it backfires TD will go crazy and the fans will want his head on a platter.

Kelly doesn't think Nuss gives a better chance to win, and from everything i can see, that is a perfectly reasonable conclusion.

If Kelly thinks Nuss is worthless why is Nuss on the team? Why didn't he go to the Portal for a QB?
Kelly said he has two starting QBs. Did he lie? Why did he want Nuss to stay?

Kelly didn’t mKe a change bc he is unwilling to deal with a QB controversy. He is Les Miles level stubborn and I’ll be damned if I open the door to being second guessed. If he had put Nuss in at the end and he lit it up, he’d have a lot of ‘splaining to do.

Has it occurred to you that he really wants Nuss to stay b/c he really doesn't like his third and fourth options?
And Kelly has pulled his starter in other games, just like Saban.
It means only that in that game, on that day, he thought his second QB gave him a better chance to win.
Coaches go thru that calculus all the time.
I'm gonna go with Kelly's judgment over yours on this one.

He didn’t say Kelly thought Nuss was worthless. He said Kelly doesn’t think Nuss gives LSU a better chance to win than Daniels.

We couldn't get a push on FSU's D line. They stuffed us cold in the redzone.

Daniels at least gives you some run threat, even if it's from the QB position. With Nuss, you're 1-dimensional... he's not going to break through the line for a 10 yd gain. And everyone has figured out you're not going to hand off for any yardage. So you have to go basically all-pass, Air Raid style with Nuss against Fla State. Considering our #2 WR wasn't reliable, and there wasn't a quick hook to put the next dude in, I'd say that wasn't a good option in the coaches' opinion.

It was a BIG game and BK didn't have the intestinal fortitude to even try putting in Nussmeier to spark the team.

That's Les Miles style Stubbonrness and what has everybody concerned at this point.......

So, Gus and Fat Bastard are endorsing the "experiment and trial and error" game-time coaching methodology, which has been employed with repeated success by .... er... uhmm...

I thought we would see NUss at that point. Only reason I come think of is he wanted JD to get more reps with it being the first game of the year

He’s had over 4 years of reps as a d1 starter, the fourth quarter of the Florida state game ain’t gonna change anything.

In the biggest game of 2019 Saban’s QB fumbled away one score and threw an interception to give LSU another score, all in the first half. He did not replace his QB.

and how many starts has Nuss had? I am sure BK will play Nuss plenty this year and maybe at some point he will overtake JD for the starting position. For that to happen though JD will either have to get hurt or we lose a few more times. His performance wasn't atrocious the other night no matter what some of yall think. We don't even know who is primary wr's were on each play and/or if he was making the right reads.

The offenses inability to score and sustain drives can have an indirect effect on the defense. Moral alone is down when the defense knows the offense is stagnant and can’t score.

And you don't think the morale was down on the offense when the defense got bent over for 31 second half points? FSU made adjustments at the half, we did not. FSU has a ton more depth than we do. No amount of morale in the world changes that.

Big difference in first game of the year and the 15th game and playing in a national title.

You could argue the contrary. Saban had nuts if steel to make the change with everything on the line.

CBK had nothing on the line other than one game.

Compared to Daniels, Nuss has no mobility. He would get sacked 8 times a game.

Would Saban change the quarterback if that’s not what needs to be changed, in his mind?
