9-3 is 9-3. There's nothing ignorant about it.
I hope you don’t tell all your friends that losing to Alabama is the same as losing to Arkansas

In Miles' last three seasons, we went to the Outback, Music City and Texas Bowls, and never sniffed an NY6 bowl (or equivalent at the time).
If LSU wins its bowl game this will be its best season since 2011, and that is not even arguable.

Both of those 9-3s included losses to Bama. Try again.

9-3 is not over achieving at LSU ever.
This is just rediclous, unless you have bama talent. Saban even loses 1-2 every year with that roster and he is the GOAT.

Won a combined 18 games in 2015. They both were much stronger programs at that time than now. The fact you use them without noting such only highlights your own “Mental midget” status.
There’s the staunch Miles defender I know. Welcome back Lonnie. What other dumb shite are going to go defend Miles on this morning?

"Exceeded expectations" for the new coach.
What a time to be an LSU fan.
With all due respect... When you fire "10-3, 8-5, 9-3..." this is sort of what's owed you.
The nation saw Alleva fire Miles. Every available coach's arse puckered up and they said "frick that."
What did you all think was going to happen?

So if we buy into the team over achieving, does that mean talent drove the results OR the coaching accomplished more with less??

2012 might be considered better even though we lost the bowl game to Clemson

In retrospect this team probably overachieved
It's an awfully convenient position for some on this board to have.
Go 9-3 in consecutive regular seasons, the same 9-3 we hated under the previous regime, and blame it on the lack of talent while SIMULTANEOUSLY patting the staff on the back for overachieving.

I don't know but I'm glad I don't have such a binary outlook on things.

Not if we win. A bowl game victory likely puts LSU in the top 7 or so. That 2012 team finished 12/13.

So it's definitely arguable since we don't know the outcome of the bowl game

My original post is above. I included the IF.
Of course the season has to play out when you are comparing a full season to an incomplete season.

Not binary, certainly subsets within each, but considering the emphasis on quality of coaching all alternatives must be examined.

Florida is ranked No. 9 and will go to a NY6 bowl.
You can't blast Auburn and Miami for not being as good as expected, without crediting Florida for being better.
UF is a mediocre team. They're #9 by default.
The fact of the matter is that LSU played 10 teams with lesser talent and went 8-2 against them. They played 2 teams with equal talent and went 1-0, and one team with more talent and went 0-1.
That's pretty much frustrating LSU football over the last 6 years in a nutshell, yet only in the last 2 years have people tried to argue it's an improvement.

Based on fricking what?
And I'm not real happy about this season either, but if we win the bowl game and finish No.7 in the country for our highest ranking since 2011, then I'll be hard pressed to bitch too much.

I feel like I'm taking crazy pills. The lunatic portion of the fan base has taken over. I've compared it to the reign of terror in the French Revolution. Things are definitely going to get worse before they get better.
