We need to over achieve in the offseason this year like we did last offseason. Getting Burrow, Tracy, and resigning Aranda were the four most critical moves last year. Even losing Patrick Surtain, we managed to get the bigger transfer QB.

Probably going to miss on Sopsher so we need a difference maker on DL and close strong in recruiting.

Agreed. A very strong class is needed with several immediate impact players on board. And O needs to talk sense into the juniors that have no business declaring.

I think everyone expects White/Williams to go obviously but beyond that we shouldn't lose anyone.

This revisionist history is laughable. Before the season, O pumpers were decrying anyone who predicted less than 8 wins.

You got it wrong. The revisions are on both sides-- including yours. As I recall, the "O pumpers" as you call them, predicted varying degrees of wins, always tempered by "tough schedule" concerns. The "negatigers" as they have been called, predicted "no less than 10 wins or the Coach O experiment needs to end."

It was bizarre-- "negatigers" were predicting greater success, to set the bar high and call season a failure and "O pumpers" were setting bar lower to call season a success.

By overachieve you mean sign another subpar recruiting class to widen the talent gap between LSU and other top programs?

Cause getting blown out by ole miss & ark & auburn is the same as losing to two ranked teams on the road lol.

Right. The writing was on the wall for Les once we started getting blown out.

Other than Alabama our losses were extremely competitive and winnable

Yea, losing to Troy at home and getting blasted a by an average State team and losing to a shitty ND team is so much better.

Being shut out 29-0 by Bama in TS, losing to (Florida), losing to A&M, 9-3, 5-3, having an O in the mid 70ies is not over achieving by any LSU standards I have grown to expect in the last 2 decades.

It wasn’t all that long ago we were firing a coach whose last full season was 9-3, 5-3 and that coach produced a better O.

3 yrs later almost the exact same performance is over achieving.

‘Those goal post keep getting closer and wider.

Yea that sucked in year 1.

Got cleaned up this year & that’s all you can ask for. Proof is in the pudding.

Instead we lost to a shitty UF team and a team we had never lost to before with a first year coach.

Don't tell em that only now that we lsot to A&M tRant will claim them to be a good team. That wasn't the case before Saturday.

The lack of production from Giles has been the biggest negative surprise this season given all the hype and getting #7 before the season. He just looked slow and lacked that twitch muscle explosion that we all were expecting.

Board would be singing a very different tune if we did beat aTm to finish 10-2, alas, a very frustrating officiated game went against us and you're going to have half the fanbase not feeling bad about 9-3 citing that and other cirmstances (Chaisson, OL, etc) and the other half still pissed because we havent won 10 games in the regular season in a long time.

We certainly exceeded national expectations where everyone was expecting us to fall apart. The offense was still just above a disaster mostly due to terrible line play, shaky WRs, no elite RBs and as usual some questionable playcalling like we're used to. If anyone truly expected a championship competing season, they were honestly just delusional. 10-2 would have been sweet, but it's hard to truly be upset about 9-3 either. I've said since even before this year 2019 needs to be the year we take that next step. If we cant get it done next year, it just wont happen under O.

Look I don't know how to tell you this but I'm not on "team O" or anything like that. The title of the thread is the TEAM probably exceeded expectations. I'm not trying to give credit to any particular individual or coach. The players deserve credit as well, particularly the ones that stepped up and played better than expected.

In Miles last two years they lost 3 combined games to Ole miss & Ark by a combined score of 34-86. Mixed in was a 7-41 loss to auburn.

Mental midget.
