Trying to be objective here. Should be an interesting discussion.
Mainly taking a look at the LSU offense vs Miami D and some keys to the game.
I'll be honest here. It is not wrong to have confidence in your team and QB. Its exciting when you get new QB, especially from a program like OSU by way of transfer. Not only that, but you guys have struggled to have a competent QB that consistently is able to utilize your talent. But, I feel you guys are jumping the gun a bit here, and I have some fair points that suggest he won't be putting up the aforementioned predicted stat lines here that I have seen while skimming through some threads.
First, it usually takes some time for a new QB to gel with his new offense. This is pretty much general consensus in football. The QB will develop more chemistry as the season goes on, and the offense will begin to run more smoothly.
The fact of the matter is, Burrow did not practice with the team in the Spring, as far as I know, and has pretty much only had the fall. This is an issue, especially when facing a defense like Miami.
Second, Burrow lacks proven veteran experience when it comes to his weapons on the field. There is almost certainly not a lack of talent. LSU has a lot of talent. From what I have read, you guys will be relying on a couple of stud freshman WRs. That being said, while talent is not an issue. Experience will be, you should expect some brain farts, drops, and mistakes from that group. Not to mention you are facing the best corner in the ACC in Michael Jackson, and arguably the best Safety in the country in Jaquan Johnson.
Third, Manny Diaz will be forcing Burrow to make big time throws. With a generally inexperienced OL, expect Miami to be in the backfield quite often. We have stud LB core and elite outside edge rushers. Will Burrow consistently make the throws VERTICALLY downfield and over the middle to put pressure on the Miami D. To me this is a key to the game for LSU. If Burrow makes these money throws it will have me worried.
Now here is where I have my concerns for my team. The interior of our line is quite thin. I expect LSU to try and establish a power run game early. Especially with a new QB, getting in to 3rd and short situations will be critical to start the game. Burrow will need to get in rhythm early or it can possibly get ugly. (See Notre Dame game and their QBs). What makes me somewhat confident is simply the absence of Guice and the presence of Gerald Willis. After serving a year suspension, I expect Willis to put on a great performance he seems to be very motivated and hungry to perform. With a generally inexperienced and unknown RB group you guys have its going to be a wait and see thing that will be key to the outcome of the game. I am sure the group is talented like always at LSU.
Anyway, this just a bit of an analysis. Tried keeping an unbiased view. Overall, I expect a competitive game. QB play will be key. Malik seems to have improved from last year in regards to accuracy by all accounts, and will always be a threat on the run. Looking forward to the matchups with the perimeter athletes which seems even on paper.
All in all, 2 great teams will be fighting to solidify a spot at the top of CFB. I am going to go with an official pick of Miami 24 LSU 13. It will be close at the half but I think experience at the QB spot and Coaching gives us the edge. Either way, Ill be rooting for LSU the rest of the way, especially against the Gayturds and Bama!!

We are definitely lacking a ton of experience, and honestly we won’t know what we have until we see it on the field.
I wouldn’t count on Willis being hungry. This dude has been a headache and I’m happy he left Louisiana

You have been listening to the national narrative, which you have the right to do.
It will be 75-25 LSU crowd. The Tigers D will rival the starting + depth of any Tiger D in history. MUCH better than last year.
Burrow is the son of a college coach. He graduated in 3 years. He is a film rat. He is a natural leader. He has a strong and accurate arm.
LSU has at least 5 WR's who will make NFL rosters in the future.
I could geaux on, but...
LSU 34
The U 17

LSUs D is going to push Miami’s shite in. Gonna make prison seem like Disney land for most of your players.

All I read was blah blah blah blah blah blah and a whole lot of it.
I’m assuming it was patronizing BS so I will just respond with frick Miami!

i wouldnt say we are "relying" on freshmn studs. the guys that been here are good players its just these 2 are studs and will get to play. you will still see get to see sullivan, anderson, dillon and co. not mention i think we will throw to TEs and RBs a little more than you have ever seen

Yeah I really wouldn't put too much confidence in that dude were I you.

I can respect your perspective on our offense.
However, I think your offense will struggle to keep Rosier protected. You're featuring 2 new starters on the line, and we have a strong front 7.
We also have an elite secondary. We have the best CB in all of college football who has tremendous ball skills.
I dont see either team scoring 3 touchdowns. Both defenses are too good.
And you believe Rosier has improved his accuracy but until he can prove it in a game, it's not proven. He struggled last year with anticipation on throws over the middle.

All I know is that Miami will be lucky to score 10 ...very lucky

I expect Aranda to put pressure on Malik. He is certainly a top DC and admittedly better than Diaz. But Rosier is a gamer, he loves the spotlight, its almost odd that I trust him more in this game than I do against, idk, say a BC later in the year.
But I expect no different from Diaz. Burrow will be under pressure. Your O line is considered a weakness. I expect us to expose that with relentless pass rush. You guys will need to get yourselves in manageable 3rd down situations. We will see how Burrow responds.

Be prepared for Burrow to light it up. I’ve had more than one Ohio State fan tell me that he should be their starting quarterback. LSU 24 Miami 6.

All I can tell you about LSU is our defense should be above average to very above average and no one on this board or anywhere else has any idea what we have and don’t have on offense. We’ve stunk it up on offense before in season openers but we have a new everything since then and with that comes new optimism. That’s just the nature of most fans.
I think Miami is solid but I think we’ll be good enough to seriously challenge them.
LOL
