You just answered your own question. LSU has won without QB talent before with great D and good ST which both should be much better in 2018.

And we do have a run game that Miami needs to worry about. We can also implement a short passing game to help Burrow get going. I'm fairly certain that the LSU coaches are very much aware of your DEs, LBs, and secondary strengths.

These guys have practiced against some of the best defenders and rushers as well. I promise you that Miami doesn't have the speed at DE that LSU has in Chassion. Miami probably has a better mix of strength and speed at DE than LSU does but raw speed is here at LSU, no doubt.

This team is accustom to winning games without much of a passing game, if that indeed becomes an issue in this game. I think overall our defense is at the very least equal to or better than Miami. I'm not so sure that Miami is accustom to winning without a great performance from yalls QB.

Most of yalls success comes from the defense creating TOs so if LSU has a plan in place to prevent that, which I'm sure they do, then yalls advantage diminishes quite a bit. IF Burrow and our OL does perform above what's expected then it might be a long day for Miami. Remember in 2006 LSU put in a first time starter against Miami and he performed at a high level.

Different circumstances then we have now but it's not crazy to think that Steve E comes up with a plan to get the offense warmed up. I'm sure this weeks practice from that stand point will be intense and Aranda will mimic the Miami D with a great deal of accuracy.

There is somewhat of an advantage from LSUs perspective in that Miami really doesn't know what LSU will do in all 3 phases since almost all of the schemes have drastically changed. Miami will take a few possessions to even know what LSU is trying to do. So I'm that time frame, can LSU put points on the board while holding Miami to zero??

Miami isn't the only defense that can create lots of TOs. I'm sure Aranda is going to try to flip the script on y'all and prove that you don't need a fancy chain to create TOs. This team is full of leadership so we'll see what Miami can do when faced with some adversity within the game. I wouldn't count on y'all being the our backfield the entire game. This LSU OL has seen a great pass rush with great players behind them before.

Auburn was neutralized and so was Bama at the point of attack last year. We have upgrades in some areas on the OL and some of the same players coming back at tackle. If Traore plays to his potential then it might be an upgrade at RT as well. Center is the only real ? IMO and I've been hearing that Cush is doing a great job.

I think Miami fans are listening to "the talk" and taking it too seriously. It's going to be a good game, no doubt about it.

The Tigers D will rival the starting + depth of any Tiger D in history...
Burrow ... is a natural leader. He has a strong and accurate arm.
LSU has at least 5 WR's who will make NFL rosters in the future.

LSU 34
The U 17

I agree wholeheartedly. That's the score I like as well.

Thanks for your insights, but then they have to actually play the game. Good luck, on another day.

Not to mention you lost to Troy last year.
Total opposite scenario, and if I were Miami, I'd want LSU to forget that game.

Troy was a Sunbelt team on Homecoming.
"Don't care, we're LSU, we gonna win".
Without being on the team, I'm about 99% sure the first thing said in the next practice was:
Do I have your attention now?

Miami's Top 10, LSU is "disrespected" at #24 or so. Miami has the team's full attention.
If the rankings were flipped, I'd be damn worried about the team's attitude.

And if I was a Miami guy, I might be a bit nervous about it, too.
"what do you mean, LSU's no good? They're good every year. This ain't no pushover. We better be ready"

Miami performed exceptionally better offensively vs. top teams than LSU.

Points for vs ranked teams:
LSU -15.3
vs. #1, #11, #26, and #31 scoring D's

Miami- 24
vs. #2, #3, #4, #31 scoring D's

Malik Rosier is very underrated. He was injured towards the end of the season and played through that injury for our last 4 games. Expect him to be much improved.

I think it is very fair to say that we have much more talent on Offense that LSU does on theirs. We return our QB, responsible for 31 TDs last year. Improved accuracy is expected from what we have seen throughout Spring and Fall camp.

We have an ELITE WR group. Jeff Thomas is the fastest guy on the field every game. Immense talent and he came on strong towards the end of the season. I expect a big Sophomore season. Ahmonn Richards when healthy is one of the best in the country. He dealt with numerous injuries throughout the whole year last year and will comeback very strong after a monster Freshman year. His matchup vs Greedy will be one NFL scouts will be keeping close tabs on. Lawerence Cager, very big with great athletic ability. He can create some matchup issues especially in the redzone, but he is also very fast for his size. Darrell Langham, great clutch player, GW TD vs FSU, countless big catches. Uses his body well and is a great situational option for us. Expect a lot of speed from our freshman, Pope and Hightower especially they will get playing time. Mike Harley as well, Sophomore runs a 4.3, a lot of Speed in our WR group. One of the most talented we have had arguably ever. Ron Dugans is an elite WR coach, our group will be ready for a lot of Man coverage, will be great to watch.

At RB, Travis Homer is a star and could leave early for the NFL after this year. He stepped in nicely for Mark Walton after he went down and is a top ACC back. He runs very hard and is not afraid to bully defenders and fight for extra yards. He's also very fast, will test really well at the Combine. Behind him we have Deejay Dallas, he is electric and is simply a playmaking athlete. He can play anywhere on the field. We will use him a lot. The Depth at RB is solid and don't be surprised to see 3 or 4 backs over the course of the game.

The Oline is a wild card, but after being concerned in the Spring, I'm really happy with how the group looks right now. Richt has been praising them and they have seemed to gain a lot of chemistry.

Miami will not overlook LSU. No one is getting overlooked this game. Miami is embracing an underdog mentality, they are not happy with their finish to last year. And are looking to prove people wrong.

The problem with that logic is that Miami doesn't have a top defense, whereas LSU does. Miami is pretty great at creating turnovers -- that's true -- but they were only the #38 defense in the country last year. By contrast, LSU had the #12 defense.

Quite the opposite, and my last post on him illustrated why: He throws interceptions against good defenses. He literally did it against every Top 20 defense Miami played. LSU won't be different unless Rosier is substantially better than last year.

This is hilarious. By scoring D do you mean points allowed per game?

And you guys were 75th in opp 3rd down conversion %. The yards per play stat doesn’t look so hot when you realize teams worked you guys on 3rd downs

That'd be great stat, if Miami played in the SEC.

We are very aggressive. We gave up chunk plays last year. I feel like LSU's offensive weaknesses play into Miami's strengths. The interior of our line will be key. Long third downs will be LSU's downfall, LSU needs to put Burrow in manageable situations or will get eaten alive and rattled. This is what happened to Wimbush and ND as well as Josh Jackson, very good QB, from Va Tech.

Miami lost their two best WRs and their two best on the offensive line.

I think the WRs are a push. LSU has good talent at WR too.

Miami may very well have the edge at RB. We'll see.

How well does your QB throw the ball on the run?

I think you're starting a new TE too.

75th would indicate you aren’t very successful with the risk you take on 3rd downs.

LSU was first in turnovers lost last year. 8 for the entire season. Miami lost 18, mainly due to your starting QB.

We played defenses much better than Miami. Do you seriously think you have better talent than Auburn or Alabama?

I saw what Rosier did to Notre Dame.
What makes you think Burrow stands a chance? Not one LSU fan has backed up their predictions of a big Burrow performance with any substantial information.

Seriously though, any LSU fan here want to tell me why they think Burrow will have success, and back that up with facts/legit info?

15/24 for 137 yards and 1 TD
44 yds rushing and 1 TD

He really lit it up I tell ya....

Notre Dame turned the ball over 4 times. LSU doesn’t do that.
