But but but the pulmonary defense team told me he inherited a program that was dead and buried. Surely they lost more games right?

It took a fluke discovery and a lot of pressure to get them to sit him. If he had done like he was supposed to and registered as a sex offender, nobody finds out and he pitches in Omaha.

They didn’t bow to pressure the next year and they won.

If 2018 and 2019 teams had this pitching staff, they would have won a lot more games. 2018 had injuries all over the field with pitchers and position players. Josh Smith was injured entire year, Broussard and Dugas both played with broken thumbs and Labas, Walker had injuries. Still averaged almost 7 runs a game. Went into regionals in 2019 with virtually 1 healthy starting pitcher in Cole Henry then he goes down in Super Regionals. No Marceaux, no Labas, no Hill, no Stotz. They averaged almost 8 runs a game. I don’t like Manieri either for a lot of decisions he makes, but injuries those two years were brutal.

The program was basically bottoming out when he took over. Just because you dont like him, and its gotten shitty lately, doesnt mean you can take away what he did at the beginning

LSU never makes it to the finals in 17 if the ump doesn’t have a 4 foot wide strikezone

You could play the what if game with that season, or 2016, 2013, 2015 in lsu’s favor. No use in tearing down our good accomplishments

PM met the standards for the program from 2012-2017. He hasnt the last 2.5 years as Boats thread points out. He has a chance to hail mary it over the next 2 months.

Or if Oregon State’s clearly fair ball down the line off of Lange isn’t called foul.

You think we should have fired our coach after three straight national seeds?

IMO you have to give Paul a pass in 07.

08 he delivered cws then 09 a title. Then Paul got lazy and 2010 and 2011 were under standard. 12-17 he brought it back up, though we had some embarrassing moments in that bunch. Being raped by stony brook and collapsing in a regional vs Houston.

Then we have 18 and 19 which were below our standards and include a choke to the biggest post season choke artist ever.

Paul needs to be put out after this year, retire him and let him take a goodwill position around the program
