Impressions of Tiger Den Suites (from those who have only been once or a few times)

Let's face it. Most of us have never been to a game in the Tiger Den Suites. We often wonder what it would be like to be able to be in the air conditioning when it's 100 degrees in the stadium, or dry and warm when 90,000 other people are getting soaked. And we would laugh at them. HA! Stupid poor people!

But seriously, this is for those of you who don't normally hang with the "Suite Crowd", but have been invited once or twice or mayabe even a few times to enjoy a game in that most exclusive of areas, but it's not a guaranteed thing.

I'm just curious as to people's impressions of the goings on up there, specifically from the point of view of someone who will never reach that social stratum (short of winning the lottery).

My impression is that I was Jack Dawson walking into First Class Dining of the Titanic. Except I'm not nearly as handsome or charming, so I didn't boss the situation and steal some rich guy's fiancee.

TBH, it's a lot less than that. Most on here would not feel out of place at all.

If you can get enough friends together, I'd recommend you try renting one of the suites once. I know you all would enjoy it.

It's stale and boring. Very few people pay attention to the game. You don't feel like you're at a live football game. The food is good though.

I've not been in the Tiger Den Suites, but I've been in the suites at UT a few times. It's VERY nice to be able to get out of the heat and have access to beer, food, and bathrooms whenever you want them. Other than that, everyone is dressed normally, though women less slutty looking...

It's certainly a "different" experience.

The food is generally better and you don't have lines.

The bathrooms are better and you don't have lines

The TVs are far better

You can't hear the band too well

The crowd isn't as "into it" most of the times

The view is equal to lower sections of the upper deck... but the seats are more comfortable

That sums up my "suite" experience in TS

I prefer to be close to the fiekd, mixed in the crowrd... loud and proud

Someone said perfectly on the radio the other day. It's like going to a wedding reception during a football game. Half the people not interested in the game, everyone just visiting

I went every home game as a kid in the suites. I just remember lots of free ice cream sandwiches.

I think if you don't own a suite, you'd enjoy the club seating more.

I was in them for the canceled McNeese St. game. It was nice to stay dry, eat, drink and watch other games on tv.

Then we left and played Rocket League the rest of the night.

I've sat up there a few times. It's definitely nice, as the op said you can get out of the weather, all the free food and drinks. Negative though, it's more of a social event. I just want to watch the game, not have conversations.

People can pooh-pooh it, but in my experience it's a great way to see the game... Open bar, catered food (including really good gumbo), an ice cream bar, leather couches and big screen TVs to keep up with the other games.. lots and lots of hot women all over the place (though that's pretty much the case with the entire stadium)... then you can step into the 'outside' portion of the suite and watch the game live... one of the best things about is that you can stay in the suite for an hour or two after the game, catch up on the day's college football highlights on the TV, and let the traffic outside subside before you leave... oh yeah, the air conditioning is pretty awesome.

And i think how 'into the game' people are really depends on which suite youre in; I've met some of the most passionate fans I've ever known in the suite I've been in.

In all honesty a lot of the people up there are just like you. Many of the suites are paid for by businesses who give out the tickets to their customers. Lots of other people are invited by their friends. In other words a ton of the people in the Suites are not actually paying for the suites themselves.

All depends on the suite.
