It's gonna be tough, the team isn't bad but they are gonna have to fight like dogs with the sec schedule they have. We haven't been any good at rebounding and it's only gonna get worse when we step up to sec competition.

And I like the sets and stuff I am seeing on offense but you can tell he and the staff are still tryna figure out what works.

My one critique would be I think Miller needs to initiate the offense more than he does, he can make plays for his teammates. Right now we are only running plays for him not letting him create.

I've been impressed by his game day coaching so far.

The most glaring difference from last season is seeing so many fewer fouls called on LSU compared to last year.

I watched the game yesterday and realized I have PTSD from last year. I was expecting whistles every time a WF player was touched...but this time no ridiculous whistles.

Refreshing

I don’t know what game(s) you’ve watched, but that isn’t even close to accurate.

Better than expected and team is better than I thought once we hit rock bottom with no players left. This is a year where every single win matters and KJ is balling out

Given all of the circumstances, I expect this team to have more room for improvement than most. I'm not saying we will make the NCAAT but I wouldn't be shocked either.

This team may hit an early ceiling or it may continue to grow. It's way too early to characterize this team given how many variables are coming together at the same time. I certainly think we have enough talent to make at least a little noise, especially if our freshmen start to put it together.

pros: great coach. We always run plays out of timeouts and they usually work. guys play hard on both ends and don't beat themselves.

cons: no where near the charisma that Wade had. There is no buzz around the team because he isn't selling the team to the fans and students the way Wade did.

So my conclusion is he is a better coach than Wade but will but needs to do more to get the fan base interested in the program.

Wade aside everybody liked him...I like our new coach...I think they will get better as the season goes on...The program just like football lost a lot of players and gained some in the portal so to speak but we are 8-1 and things look good...

CMM will get us to be a top 4 SEC team like WW had us.

This year's team rebounds poorly and shoots FT's poorly. WW's teams did much better in those two categories.

which with what he came into I think is commendable that he was able to do.
. That’s a big understatement in my opinion. He literally, LITERALLY had zero players on the roster to begin with. If he can somehow put together a .500 season this year and a post season win or two (SECT and/or NIT) I’d say he’s done remarkably well!

Good in-game coach, but will need to get some sec quality players before we will have a chance to finish top 5 in the conference. It is necessarily his fault, but we don’t have a single NBA player on this team.

Miller and Williams will both play in the NBA. Reed, Phillips and Tyrell Ward are 4 and 5 star recruits so scouts believe they have NBA potential as well. We have 5 top 100 recruits on this roster, last season we had 6 so there’s plenty of talent despite the false Rant narrative.

He doesn't have the big talk or shiftiness of WW, but my perception is that he has a way of bonding with players and gaining their trust that bodes well for the future.

I didn't read where the original question asked for a comparison of the current coach with the coach who ultimately ran the program down with his "strong arse offer" nonsense.

If he gets down by 10 at any point in any game he is summarily fired by the Rant regularly. The posts in the early part of the game yesterday was classic rant...

I'm tired of every thread about a current coach morphing into criticism or praise for some coach who is long gone. Orgeron is gone. Wade is gone. Miles is gone. Maineri is gone. The new coach may be better, the new coach may be worse. Who gives a shite about how they compare to the old coach?

It is time to move on from the past.

Strange post. We got out rebounded 37-30 and at one point it was 22-8 and we weren’t rebounding shite.

WF has very good bigs. This is not a bad thing.
