They are glorified practices. Losing a couple is acceptable but this year is worrisome!!

It’s never been black and white. Midweek games don’t matter when you go 20-10 in the SEC. Midweek games absolutely matter when you go 13-17 in the SEC.

This is about as clear as it gets. They absolutely matter when they start stacking up and your conference record is meh.

2024 greatly under seeded and sent to UNC which was a joke as well.

Weren’t we a 2 seed with 13 sec wins? Don’t see how that is greatly underseeded.

Yes we were. I don’t know where he came up with greatly under seeded.

You think and LSU team that was 13-17 in conference should have been hosting a regional? I would be curious as to when the last time a a 13-17 SEC team hosted a regional was.

Is Mascona still parroting the narrative that mid week games do not matter at all? It has always been my opinion that they do matter because it’s about forming habits. You can’t just ignore part of of your schedule

They didn’t matter last year.

LSU had an RPI of 15 in 2024( I think it was around 18 at time of selection)

Yet they were given the 29th seed effectively.

Hosting with a losing SEC record is a little much, but an RPI that high and going to a top 8 seed is pretty damn strange.

sure you can make an argument that to winning games is good for moral things like that but from an overall record stand point midweek DO NOT matter.

If LSU won every week game but ended the season at 10-20 in the SEC they wouldn't make the tournament.

IF LSU lost every midweek game and ended the season at 20-10 in the SEC they would be a top 8 national seed.

Don't be so sure of this. The committee loves to put the screws to LSU every chance they get
good lord, I'm so tired of the "LSU is a victim" mentality.

This is the right answer

I find the opposite. They give LSU the benefit when we’re good, and they send us to the West Coast on “down” years. Might be how they try to act like they don’t give LSU preferential treatment by being able to point out how they sent us 2500 miles away in recent years.
