Against a 3 man Ole Miss front , LSU couldn’t block. Imagine if we had the O line of Weston Davis, Tyree Adams at tackle, Paul Mubenga and Coen Echols at guard, and DJ Chester at center. Scary to think. LSU needs to hit the portal hard again for O lineman again .

Yesterday, Moore got whipped pretty good and Thompson wasn’t much better….Ole Miss beat us on both lines of scrimmage

Imagine any team without good players acquired through transfer portal or recruiting.

What is your point, here?

The point is, if our transfers are good enough to start here, and they aren’t that great, how bad must our recruited lineman be.

They are so bad with these guys, I am not sure how their absence could make things worse.

So your problem with the staff is addressing known deficiencies in the portal?

The guards aren’t doing Moore any favors.

The Tackles are having trouble with speed rushers around the outside, Moore is handling a DT mostly one on one, and our Guards are zone blocking air half the time.

We need a big TE to chip the DE into the tackle, and the Guards need to put some muscle into the DT until someone enters their zone.

If Thompson wasn’t a transfer he would have been replaced already

In short, Brad Davis needs to go.

Sloan would be next.

No, they absolutely need to address their deficiencies in the portal. That’s the point because their high school recruiting for O lineman isn’t paying off, or they aren’t coaching them up!

CBK is a damn fool for not addressing tackle in the portal.

I get Weston Davis was a five star and CBK just had Will Campbell and Emory Jones walked in and start as freshmen but for fricks sake he’s been awful. You can’t tell me they didn’t see that in practice.

His approach to this oline has killed the season

And the only two options to replace Davis when he gets hurt are another true freshman or DJ Chester?!?!

What the frick was he thinking?

I don’t think Thompson has been good.

Moore had a rough outing but had been the best lineman by far this year.
Thompson has been a serious disappointment. If he wasn't here, Chester or Curne would not have been a drop off in that spot.
In fact i would argue we might have been better off letting Curne start at RG and get the reps. By end of season he would be really good. Dude is a monster just needs better foot work.
