I'm surprised by the acceptance of mediocrity by the majority of this board

Those of us who expect LSU to be a dominant football team are called "soft" and "bad fans" (and worse). This wasn't the case 10 years ago. The last three coaches we've had (even Orgeron) proved that dominance should be the norm at LSU. Why are most fans now ok with being just "ok"?

It’s really alarming. I’m not sure if they’re trolling or not.

A win is a win. Ask Alabama.

We live in Louisiana. Mediocrity is a way of life.

Look at what happened yesterday. I think the parity that seems to have taken a hold of cfb is playing a part in accepting what’s going on.

Dude it’s a message board. Are you coming here for validation?

People grow up. They change. The game changes. College football is not the game of yore. That affects how people feel about everything. Probably time to just enjoy it for what it is. Your angst isn’t going to propel the team forward.

It’s true.

We’ve also accepted mediocrity with stadium attendance. And folks here defend it like it’s a second amendment right.

No one is satisfied. They're just relieved to end a 3 game skid and do it against a pretty tough team.

Dominance was not the norm under Orgeron nor the final years of Miles.

Les Miles
2011 - 13-1 (8-0) - SEC Champs
2012 - 10-3 (6-2)
2013 - 10-3 (5-3)
2014 - 8-5 (4-4)
2015 - 9-3 (5-3)

Ed Orgeron
2017 - 9-4 (6-2)
2018 - 10-3 (5-3)
2019 - 15-0 (8-0) - National Champs
2020 - 5-5 (5-5)
2021 - 6-6 (3-5)

This program has averaged 9.2 wins per year since 2000. Dominance is far from the norm.

No true LSU fan is okay with “mediocrity”. It’s the fact calling for bk to be fired right now imo is a very emotional decision that could potentially be the worst thing for the program. What would be the replacement, paying buyout, etc? People on this board went for posting nothing but alignment memes of bk after back to back 10 win seasons after O left us in the dumps to saying we should have hired sunbelt billy. I’m by no means saying bk is the savior and never have, but I do think he’s currently the best option as of now.

I feel 2019 gave false expectations to fans of what this program is. Yes we’re a big brand but we weren’t consistently dominant under miles or Ed. Yes we had some double digit winning years but still had plenty of 3 to 4 loss seasons including bad losses to Troy, Wisconsin and ucla

who is ok with it? I see a lot of frustration. But tell me, who is dominant in the SEC right now? Nobody!

NIL and Transfer Portal have changed the landscape. There are a lot on here that toot Ole Miss' horm because they went out and bought several big names and for a while it looked like that was the way. Now look at them out of the playoffs and tied with us in the SEC.

Dude whether you like it or not NIL changed everything. The “brand” no longer matters nearly as much as it used to. Also we aren’t the only ones. Just look at this week in the SEC and this week in general where a HIGH SCHOOL QB was just paid $12-15 to play.

You beat a really good team who beat good teams and played some other good teams close. I’m not happy about the season and he better make a lot of improvement next year. I didn’t even watch the game for the first time all season. Most felt if we lost yesterday then all hope was lost moving forward.

It was a good when against a Vandy team that has wins over quality SEC teams. Take it.

Plus, the offensive play calling was a bit different last night. Got the run going and had short pass yardage gains.
