TV replays show he clearly did not catch it. But the umps couldn't tell.

umm no he didnt. he got up slowly and casually tossed it in to 2nd base. Then proceeded to laugh and smile when they called it a DP

The best acting he did came after the out was called. HE threw up two fingers to show other outfielders there are two outs. Before that he sold the fact he did not catch to everyone but the umpires.

I liked how many of the right field LSU fans were signaling "safe" after the non-catch. Classy, IMO.

He didn't try to disguise a catch. Otherwise, he would have rolled over after he switched the ball from his left hand to his glove. That's apparent.
