GOAT for what?

JD is an LSU legend forever but he will never, ever be held in the same regard as Joey B here. Never.

oh well if it’s that easy, every QB should throw to their first read

He's played 3 games, pump the brakes! I wish the young man all the success In the world. He won't last long in the NFL running the way he runs. He's not built for it, he has exceeded my expectations out of the gate. Also to out duel Butrow in prime time says something about that young man.

Daniels had a great game against probably the worse NFL defense he will see all season.

Patrick Mahomes played against that so called worse defense and wasn't as accurate. I don't care if he's playing against AIR. 21-23 completion percentage at that level in his rookie season is remarkable. Guess how many ROOKIES have done that in just their 3rd game.

Disclaimer: I'm not saying he is better that Mahomes. Just comparing STATS since that is what your premise is of Cincy defense.

Hope he has a long successful career. Way too early to be talking about GOAT status.

Will be interesting to see how you performs once there is plenty of film out on him. NFL DC’s are really good at their jobs.

People said that about Burrow too and we see how that’s going.

It’s really hard to figure out why some of you can’t understand that’s it’s ok to have doubted Jayden in 2022

This is fine, but this is the issue

It was still debatable in 2022 and the first couple of games 2023 whether he or Nuss should be the starter.

That is not fine, and where all the conflict emerges.

He will face better defenses and defenses will devise schemes against him. He will get slowed down but I think he will be very good.

Joe and JD5 are BOTH all time greats.

To me, JD5's performance at LSU is the more utterly amazing (than Joe in 2019) given the talent level on the 2023 team versus the talent level on the 2019 team.

GOAT of what? Like better than Tom Brady, Joe Montana GOAT? That would be incredible to witness. Personally I think Joe is the GOAT at LSU, but Jayden is right there and I’m rooting for him.

Yep, call me crazy, but I’m calling my shot. Of course I know it might not happen. However, I think he’s still has underrated elite accuracy, escapes and gets up field really fast, and processes everything well. It’s not easy running routs without coverage or giant d line trying to slam you and get 21/23 complete. I’m impressed and I don’t think it’s a fluke, based on what I’ve seen of him over the last year.

Burrow, as much as I want to see him reach his potential, is going to be limited as long as Zac Taylor is coach in Cincinnati. That McVay coffee boy should have never been hired but Cincy is the cheapest franchise in the league and unfortunately even after they can this bum they likely won’t pay up to bring in Ben Johnson or other quality OC anyway. The clown crew running that organization has been in charge since 1991 and hadn’t won a playoff game until 2021 after Burrow fell into their laps.

We see this playing out with Higgins and Chase right now. Cincy just rarely pays for talent, they simply had no choice but to pay up for the hometown QB that had already carried them to a SB when his time came up. But putting the talent around him likely isn’t something they are willing or able to do.

Jayden, on the other hand, is in a great spot with an pretty good OC that has already failed as a HC and may be content to build and run an offense around him for years while the HC runs the defense and leaves him alone.

We’ve seen Lamar win MVPs and get a team close to a SB and Jayden has the potential to be a better and more complete QB imo. His deep ball stats were the best all time last year and his running ability is better than anyone since Vick imo. The sky really is the limit for him and I hope Washington is willing to put the talent around him and see how far he can go.

Or as long as he is in Cincinnati no matter who the coach is.

But he made his own bed, so if one SB is his pinnacle, it’s on him.

If he stays healthy. BUT Joe will always be the LSU GOAT.

The main difference between the two is that no matter when the defense gave up a game leading score, you just knew Joe was going to answer, and that’s why they were undefeated. That said, Jayden has a bright future ahead, and both deserved the Heisman.

Maybe having a good defense with Aranda as the coordinator vs the dumpster fire defense with the legendary Matt House at the realm had something to do with it. That’s just a wild guess that maybe I should even say out loud.
