That may be, but because of how CLM played it, we will never know. That said, if LSU cannot generate first rate pass blocking against the gumps....

If that was true, why DID we disturb the balance?

For whatever reason, Miles wanted JJ to be his QB...period. We will likely never have answers beyond that.

We were 13-0 at the end of the year. Had miles put Mett in and we lost, morons would be screaming why did he play him.

What?! One half of 0 points was not enough to change the game plan? That is the mark of a pig headed dimwit.

Well, our O-line played better in November against Alabama and Lee still played terrible. Anything is possible, but four years of football suggests that Lee would have been a disaster in the NC

Lets not start this. Can't we just be happy with what is going on THIS season?

Yeah, the reason was two picks and the likelihood of a loss at Alabama. Did you choose to not watch that game or something?

Wasn't it clear, even in the spring game before last season? Mett gets his reps cut short so as not to upstage the #1 and #2 senior qb's.

The reason Mett didn't get meaningful snaps is because we were going to stick with the seniors regardless. Les didn't want Mett playing meaningful snaps because it would have been obvious he should have been the starting QB.

It sucked all last year knowing the best qb on the team wasn't going to play. But winning all those games made it easier to swallow. Only real problem I had was Les didn't play him in the bowl game, but then again he was just coming off a hand injury.

He wasn't 3rd string until Jefferson rejoined the team.

The "LSU went 13-0 in the regular season and made the BCS championship game, so shut up" argument is pretty retarded. They won every game sans Bama by 10+ and won several by 20 or 30+. When would one most expect to see the backup quarterback, in a close game, or with a big lead?

The better a team is, the more you should see the backup QB, ESPECIALLY when the starter/s are seniors and the backup is expected to be the starter next year and has no DI experience.

It was a mistake. Admit it and move on.

Sadly, House, you are probably correct. Maybe CLM will have a full disclosure in his posthumously published memoirs....One can have dreams.

I think the results have been pretty damn good. Maybe I'm dumb though.

Please tell me where i said they were bad...

Just because a team wins doesn't mean one cannot look for ways to get better. Just because i don't have "coach" in front of my name doesn't mean I'm that far removed down the intellectual chain that i don't think. Every coach breaks down games win or lose, and even though i'm not paid to coach, I still look past the damn score because i wanna know how we will stack up against tougher competition down the road.

You must have missed the NC game. I really don't understand your logic on this one. We are all guilty of homerism from time to time, but come on.

Mike Linebacker, you seem like a very sensible observer, and I agree that Mett should get as many reps as possible. However, do you think handing off without any pre-snap reads in clock burn mode represent meaninful reps? I am concerned that Miles' apparent concerns about running up the score are problematic. We need both Mett and Rivers to get some passing game experience, and Miles has put the run hammer down by mid 3rd quarter in both of these games, and he likely will again next week.

Do you think this is a mistake that could come back to haunt us? This same approach prevented Mett from getting any real reps early last season.

I think our definitions of "meaningful" differ greatly, buy I'll ask you again since you ignored me question earlier. Who are all these 3rd string QBs getting meaningful reps? Surely, you must have examples. I'll take just one. Go.

Of course a good question. Why not get as much game experience as possible for key backups? What are we missing, House? I'll admit that I am not the brightest bulb on the Christmas tree, but what gives? Rivers should get some in game passing experience whenever the opportunity presents itself.

The argument that CLM is the winningest coach at LSU, is the hobgoblin of losing mindsets. LSU had the hell beat out of it in Jan in large part because the omniscient CLM could not bring himself to play anyone but the <sarc> winningest QB in LSU's storied history, Jordan Jefferson!<sarc>
