The breaking curfew the last night of camp was apparently a team tradition. Read it last night from Randy Rossetta. Didn't say whether or not the coaches knew, but that if all they had done was break curfew, nothing would have happened disciplinary wise.

That being said, I think they've already been run pretty good, that's about all I would to everyone that wasn't fighting.

For the ones that were fighting, it depends on their level of involvement. If they're just protecting their teammate, I'd probably leave them be with the running. The face stomper would get games and he'd be worked like a rented mule, but not kicked off.

-Every senior out after curfew would not start Homecoming.

-Underclassmen out after curfew punished internally

-Any player who threw a punch sits for 2 to 3 games, regardless if they are charged with a crime or not (UNLESS THE EVIDENCE IS OVERWHELMING THAT THEY ACTED IN SELF-DEFENSE - then they are suspended for 1 game, because they still shouldn't be out after curfew because $hit happens - you never have to apologize for doing the right thing).

-Any player charged with a felony is suspended for the season.

-Any player convicted or pleads guilty to a felony is dismissed from the team.

What examples in college of a player being charged with a felony but eventually returns to the field?

50 or so who broke curfew- small potatoes, Miles has already handled it by running the entire team.

15-20 involved in fight - run them extra. sit them 1st quarter or entire half of Oregon game depending on level of involvement

4 charged (if charged) with simple battery - 2 game suspension

If changed with felony 2nd degree battery - Suspended indefinitely

Same way Oregon is handling DT's issues. Sweep it under the rug and don't admit to anything.

The 4 players involved should be dismissed from the team.

Lots of vomitting for everyone.
More vomitting for the 20 or so.

THE 4 - suspending 3 of them is almost no punishment except for Landry if he's healthy - the other 2 weren't going to play anyway.

JJ - leave his arse at home, no trip to Dallas. Same with Landry.
Put him taking #3 snaps and force him to earn any playing time he gets, which, may or may not happen.

If I were CLM, indefinite suspensions for all 4 until the District Attorney makes a decision.

Of the 4 players questioned,

if they are charged with a felony -- off the team;

if they are charged with a misdemeanor -- suspension for some time period.

I agree that this is a solid post. But the thing that scares me the most is the fact that all of these guys disregarded rules and went out. Some say it's no big deal. I think it is a pretty big deal because it can be a sign of bigger things that we as fans would be unaware of. It is disrespectful to the coach and to the staff. This alone may not mean much but it has me thinking that Les has let go of the reins and if he were to lose control of the team would be a much more serious issue.

I seriously doubt that any player will be charged with a felony (given the known facts and top notch attorney). kicking someone who is on the ground is no different than puching someone who is on the ground.

2 game suspension for the 4 envolved.

Miles' penalty may answer the question, Is college football a business first or college sport first.

In my mind, anyone that kicked someone in the head is gone. no questions asked. I'd let moffit handle the rest.

If the story that is posted is true, I would kick the guys involved in the fight off the team. Everyone else would be running their arse off. I really hope this story is one sided though and the players involved turn out to be more in the right then they are right now.

I don't get this running thing as a punishment. These guys are in top shape, and running really isn't a punishment, only a bother.
Make those who broke curfew, pick up trash after home games around the stadium on Sundays in their jerseys.
The fifteen or so, the above, plus tight curfew, all year long, like 8 pm.
The four, depending on offense involved, suspension of games and dropped depth chart. My question on the severity of the offense. If a band member is charged with a felony, do they kick him out of the band. If so, same for the football player, IMO. I really like the trash idea.

JJ just getting charged with 2nd degree battery should not warrant getting kicked off the team. If he is actually convicted of that charge, then yes, he is done.

If you threw a punch/kick, you are suspended a minimum of 2 games

If they are involved in a fight while violating curfew (no matter what the reason) I think two games is a fair suspension. If criminal charges are filed, you have go take it a bit further.
