I say play no hard feelings plus we get the Tennessee LB . No conference stipulations everything wide open it’s all good .

Impossible to know everything that happened behind the scenes or what hes supposedly going thru...

As a fan, knowing whats on the surface....hes sitting next year.

If he did what he felt was best for him...ok. Whats best for LSU is to not allow him to play next year for a conference rival. Sorry not sorry

No need to be petty about it
That doesn't look good on the recruiting trail

Hard to say giving the information that we have as fans.

If it was truly a case of him needing to restart then depending on how he went about it, I would consider it.

If he just threw a large tantrum or couldn't cope, then i'd probably tell him to sit.

Young man is sitting out if it's up to me. That is just gamesmanship, we can't let him beat us this year if it is up to us.

So you’re saying “come play for us. If you don’t get your way, transfer to our rival” is your recruiting pitch? I’m sure I speak for some here when I say that’s a terrible idea.

If it was left up to us, which I doubt it ultimately is, there's no way I'd vouch for him to be eligible right away.

He quit in middle of season, he was supposedly facing a suspension too, we kept him on scholarship this semester because he kept saying he wanted to come back probably to ultimately transfer to a team we play every year. He hasn't even completed 1 academic year yet. No way he should be eligible right away, that would be horrible precedent to set by the NCAA/SEC if you allow a conference transfer like that after being at a school for 1 semester and being eligible right away at new school.

It used to be an added bonus and incentive to get your degree then transfer wherever to play right away, you cant give that option to guys like Arik who completed 1 semester somewhere, sorry.

Just the opposite. It tells recruits that if you commit to LSU you are committing for 3 years at least.

Let him play, then shut him down when we play them, then chuckle and trot off the field

If you make him sit out that means you may only have to face him once since he can go to the NFL after the 2022 season. And with the way he’s quick to bolt he might even if he’s not ready as a player.

I hope LSU is not recruiting players that are worried about how LSU handles transfers.

The page: TURN IT.

Why does Gilbert live in some of your heads so damned much? He left. It is over. Move on.

Not the same but, in a competitive 7-8 yr old kid pitch Dixie Youth baseball league, another team does not have enough players, players of equal skill of the missing player(s) can be picked up to fill the spots if both coaches agree. Granted each team has a solid core of 3 to 4 really good players and then some not very good.
Our team is ready to play and the other coach asked me if he could pick up a player and let him play RF. It was the best player on a team that just finished playing their game. I said to get a player more like the missing RFer. He said it’s the only guy he could get quickly. Yeah, sure.
Dang kid played outstanding, threw several runners out from the outfield, hit 3 for 3, but we won by scoring on an error in the last inning. I didn’t agree to that crap again.

So we could dominate UF again when we play
