so did most of the opponents. lots of SECtards have created this myth that in the past 6 years teh only other teams who weren't in the SEC who could make it to title games relied on all passing offenses with no Ds

2006: OSU had lots of D and running
2007: OSU had even more running and still lots of D
2008: OU was more pass than run, but they did run
2009: UT easily had the most pass-oriented offense, but still had a good D
2010: Oregon was a rushing offense with a so-so D

Oregon doesn't have a defense

they did just shut out a team with a good offense

NOW, some of that was missed FGs, but they still demolished Zona's offense, which had been humming

Why can't people recognize that these teams would not score enough to win against LSU.

Why oh why. And the ones that do typically score would get rag-dolled by LSU.

BC of the Auburn game on the road? Auburn has talent.. they were beyond AMPED. They couldn't move the ball for shite either.

How would you justify Stanford or ND?

Stanford beat San Jose St. 20-17 at home.

Stanford has arguably a best win this season.

ND got outgained by Michigan at home and Mich's defense held them to 240yds total.

ND beat MSU 20-3 on the road and has wins over Michigan and Purdue. I'd say that's more than LSU has done to this point.

a fricking badass DC who has led many top-10 defenses

not in his first year with Arizona's defensive talent. Get real

a bunch of those SEC teams had "flashy offenses

Bama 11 - nope
Auburn 10 - good player, not flashy offense
Bama 09 - nope
Florida 08 - nope, again just a good player
LSU 07 - nope
Florida 06 - nope

Becasue of Tebow and Newton I can see maybe 2 of the 6 had outstanding offenses.

No, what we are saying is a solid running game and very good defense gets you to the title games more that that flashy, smaller, speed offense. The winning teams prove that and most of the runner-ups prove that.

Thanks for emphasizing our point.

Bama deserves #1, so anywhere from 2-5. #3 is about right.

5 is right based on what has been seen on the field to-date. I think we will move up to 2nd by 11/3, and then with a good performance, 1

Am I the only person that doesn't care where the AP writers rank us since the AP poll has no bearing on the determination of the National Champion?
