Intermediate passes, Creativity like Clemson game with run game, keep OM defense on field. Ball control and points.

I agree with the ball control principle. Ole Miss has a smaller defense, but quick, and keeping them on the field will help us run the ball in the 3rd and 4th with the game on the line.

Ole Miss offensive tempo can be disruptive if they get in a rhythm, so keep them off the field to rest the D and bring havoc. If you get Ole Miss off schedule with down and distance they are easier to stop.

Knowing Lane, he will get impatient and take chances if we limit their offensive opportunities, which plays into our hands to get some turnovers and hopefully short fields for the offense.

Intermediate passes,

This. Ole Miss free safety plays 15 yards deep. LBs not all that strong.

Yeah man Frank Wilson, notoriously bad running backs coach.

Your schtick is so tired.

Nuss being healthy opens up the entire pass game playbook. Fine a decent running game agaisnt a god awful Ole Miss run defense. But the identity of this team is throwing the ball use that to set the run up

Work the intermediate middle with Anderson and Zavion. Once they walk the safeties down take deep shots. Use short pass as the run game and get playmakers on the edges. Quick slants. More toss plays in the run to get to the edge since we don't get a push.

This is the correct answer. Let Anderson and Zavion gash them completely over the middle. Once that happens, the run game will open up. Hell, I would even recommend taking a few shots down the field to Hilton to really open them up. Then salt the game away in the third and fourth quarter with the running game.

Match Trey Dez Green on Sage Ryan if at all possible Go to that connection early, middle and late. I don't care what we do as long as it works and keeps us with the ball on offense. Way too much inefficiency on offense. Lineman need to block, wide receivers need to catch and running backs need to hit the right holes and hold onto the ball. Less penalties. Just improvement to see that we have goals.

You have to ask yourself what does my team do best. Who are my reliable players. For LSU it’s Nuss and his receivers. Find creative ways for the receivers to make plays to open up the run

Would you come out and traditionally attempt to establish the run, or go pass-heavy, air it out downfield, put them on their heels and hopefully open up the running lanes later?

Pass first (around 60-40), but use things like screens and the flats as an extension of the run game. Even if it isn’t out of the RPO, use the slant game with Anderson, as it’s almost unstoppable. But sprinkle in deep shots where possible.

Come out focusing on the outside runs first. Heavily. Jets, quick pitches, pop passes, counters- hit the edges hard and use our speed. Make their LBs and Safeties move and tackle in space. Then hit them in the middle once the defense has to spread out and we have a numbers advantage in the box.

Line up #10 on the right side to shore it up and play everything you want with that extra blocker, including chips and dumpffs until our OL can prove they don't need it.

Pass to set up the run. QB draws worked in here and there to keep them honest. Use I formation here and there to play action on short yardage downs. Change the script.

Intermediate routes, a few 8-20 yard runs. One or two long go routes or deep seam routes. Score in the red zone. Take advantage of our defenses three interceptions.

Control the ball, mix it up, need TD’s instead of FG’s

An average or better run game will make this offense so much more effective.

I like the I formation we saw at the end of the Florida game. Hope we have that package when we need short yardage and to change it up.

I like how Johnson runs physical and downhill. Due to Durham’s injury, he may be the default #1 and that’s not a bad thing. He runs hard and looks decisive.

Mix in some play action and we may have something to hang our hats on with a run game.

Of course I am not advocating to run on 2nd and long or to abandon the pass. Just to find a new way to use the weapons we have. And if Ole Miss has a weakness stopping the run, maybe this gives us a way to take advantage.

I’d rep one run play in practice all week over and over. Then I’d run variations of it all game long. Mix in 3 or 4 qb designed runs and some intermediate pass routes to attack their safeties. Game plan doesn’t have to be that complicated. Ole Miss defense is a movable object.

Attack the seams with WRs and TE. Especially if Sage is in the game.

Frank was also the RB coach during some of the best running years for LSU. You can GFYS.
