and don't get it, then they score and you have enough time to score the winning td. Terrible game decision.

Your logic isn't necessarily wrong, but it isn't bullet-proof.

The analytics say punt every time

He played percentages and lost. You only play percentages when you have a defense. Out coached himself.

It was obvious to everyone but our dumbass head coach that we couldn’t stop them. You go for it 10/10 times in that situation. That decision single handedly lost LSU the game with the way the defense was playing.

Obviously hindsight is 20/20.. but I don’t think the 4th down call was the issue, it was the playcalling that lead to the 4th & 7.

We should have been in 4 down territory, meaning 4th down would have been manageable - 4th & 2, 4th & 3….

Yeah but to hell with analytics in a game like that. With Ole Miss scoring damn near every time, we should have went for it in that situation. That was mismanaged.

Run the ball on 3rd down and 2/3 yards. Have a 4th down play ready. You try to win game right then.

The issue should be with the 3rd down call and not the 4th. Run a better play get some yards and the call becomes way easier. Going backwards makes the decision to punt alittle easier. If we punted on 4th and 2 I’d totally agree

Totally agree. I don't know what damn game BK was looking at to even have the slightest confidence the defense was going to get a stop.

The third down play call after the timeout was easily the worst call of the night on offense, which, whatever. The offense didn't lose the game and it had NO margin for error.

That play call told me that we weren't going for it on 4th down if we didn't get it. I know IF we punted, we would lose.

You don't play percentages. You play the flow of the game. BK didn't play like he knew he had a historically bad defense.

The analytics say that because that’s the way it’s played most every time…self fulfilling prophecy.

That’s not how analytics work

Except they made this decision on third down.

Take third down and run the ball and maybe get 2-4 yards and the analytics change. Instead, Kelly told Daniels - this play has one route to Nabers, if it is covered, take a sack. He wanted to waste time.

If Daniels throws the ball away, maybe there's another 40 seconds on the clock for LSU after OM walks over the the defense.

And everyone would have melted about it if LSU doesn’t go down and score a game winning TD.

Ole Miss also only needed a FG to take the lead. They’d have been able to take their time and milk the clock to kick the FG with little or no time left for LSU to get the ball back.

Kiffin didn’t want them to score that last TD. Runner should’ve given himself up inside the 5 and there would’ve only been about 45 seconds left. Ole Miss could’ve taken a couple knees to make LSU burn their final 2 timeouts, then used 3rd down to run the clock down and kick the FG on 4th as time expired

What galls me is the three plays that we ran prior to punting. A sweep with Nabors, they run up the middle on a five man front and a roll out by JD which they covered like a blanket. Our playcalling at crunch time was crap.

The sprint out on 3td down was dumb.

3 plays run in 36 seconds was dumb

Matt House and BK are dumb.

I argued this exact point here and everyone got mad at me. … until everything I said would happen happened. When they punted, I said we lost.
