If Miles is fired his assistant coaches would immediately start looking for a new job.

Think about that for a minute

We wouldn't be #1; I think some of our recruiting success right now is an emotional shift because of all the drama (We're reaping the positive side of it now that we've taken the negative knocks)

You're crazy though if you think LSU wouldn't field a top 25 recruiting class regardless of who's coaching c'mon. Do our fans really think so low of our football team that they don't consider us a top 25 program?

"Killer coach"? Nick ain't coming back and UM isn't coming down.

Where is this"killer coach" coming from and please don't suggest Fla. St.

I'm a big time believer in Coach MIles, but just to play devils advocate. Steele moved on and then we landed Aranda and recruiting actually seemed to pick up.

It's different for a head coach, but it doesn't necessarily follow that changing head coach would absoulutely kill recruiting. Sure it would have some negative effects but if you replaced him with a coach that recruits really like, (like Herman from Houston) then you would lose some recruits but it doesn't mean the whole class collapses.

The new coach might have some recruits follow him over and some QB recruits who won't give us a second look due to our offense might suddenly become interested.

If Miles and Cam prove they can't adapt to the times then you move on regardless of effects on recruiting, but looks to me that they now have a WANT to adapt

and as we all know, nothing is more important than to have a 'want'

That is pie-in-the-sky thinking. Miles honored daddy Frank's request to not recruit another QB in return for his son's pledge to go to LSU. The Franks dishonored their side of the agreement.
All of the other top notch QB's have been heavily recruited, some for years, by other schools. Most have them gave their commitment to other places.
I know that kids jump from one commitment to another all of the time. Much of recruiting is based on developing a personal relationship between a coach and staff and the prospect, often nurtured through years of contact.
To think that a top QB prospect would jump at LSU just because they have a new coach (no matter who that might be) is pretty optimistic at best.

this is correct, but be careful willie, rational thoughts are frowned upon by many on the Rant.

What "times" is that? More passing? LSU averaged 3 less pass plays a game than Bama while we ranked #1 in the SEC in rushing.

LSU doesn't have to "adapt", they need to become more efficient passing the ball.

They also have to play better D. Why we beat the O continually like a bad dog and have little to nothing to say bout a D that, at times, couldn't get off the field is a mystery to me.
