a national championship and go 4-1 in bowls would you take it?
Keep defending Miles......

just bringing up the argument--if we dont get into the 03 championship game, we dont see all these bandwagon pussies on this site comparing our average coach to god...i mean saban. Its not like we were competing for championships in all 5 years saban was here. I'll bet $100 that the guy who wanted me to put a $100 on a sucker bet doesnt even go to games or send money to TAF...like I do. I am not happy where we are as a program but understand where we have been.

And you'd be wrong yet again. LSU 1989-1994, season ticket holder since 2000 and have donated $5000 in a single year to TAF multiple times the last 10 years (although not that amount every year).
I've addressed this as recently as yesterday if you check post history and a few months ago scanned and uploaded documentation to an idiot on here that couldn't do the same.
It's the Les Miles "blind faithers" that are mostly bandwagon fans without ties to LSU.

Right. Guy never showed his face again.
Sometimes it's entertaining to shut up and embarrass ignorant people like yourself.

How is 51-14 with 4 wins in 5 bowl games plus 1 silly little NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP "blind faith"? I'm not saying he's infallible, I'm just saying there's evidence that he can coach a top program. Whether he can sustain it is unclear, just as it is for Saban (who's never had sustained success anywhere). I don't say that to compare Miles to Saban, but to say that every coach has to prove that. No coach in the SEC since Bear Bryant has ever sustained the kind of success you guys are looking for.

I would bet if you could somehow analyze this, you'd find a pretty even distribution...I have relatives who never went to college, but are life-long LSU fans and can't stand Miles, and I know LSU grads that support him.

Btw, looks like you owe me $100.
And if you had any balls, you'd accept the $100 bet about Saban doing worse than Miles the next two seasons. Otherwise, you're just full of hot air.

Yes.
Having said that, if at that point, 5 years from now, I was certain that we couldn't compete for the SEC or NC over the next few years, I'd replace that coach as well.
The people who want to keep Miles for his past record are as stupid as the people who want to fire him for what has already happened over the last two.
Miles' fate should be determined based on the best possible educated guess on what will happen moving forward. It's the only thing that matters. If it's not going to be good, he should be removed...in spite of his past success.
Conversely, if you think we will be able to compete moving forward, he should be retained...in spite of the issues over the last two years.

Depends on how we are winning and losing games.
Depends on if we are going away from plays that work.
Depends on if we keep calling the same plays that don't work.
Depends on if we keep playing the same players that can't play.
Depends on if we still have GC or not.

Funny how people are having to completely contort things to make a point that Miles has to go.

All of a sudden the Big 12 is a really deep conference,
from about 98-03 it was the deepest . It was easily the best conference 2000-2003. Since 2004 it has been a 2 team conference.

and USC really contended for National Titles every year since 2003. That would have been blasphemy at any other time.
Its blasphemy to idiots that obsess over USC and ESPN. For those of us that live in the real world and don't care that some analyst on ESPN thinks USC is the greatest team ever there are things called facts: 03 they were #1 in both polls won the aP title. 04 won BCS CG. 05 lost BSCCG, which they were winning with 20 seconds left. 06 they were #2 in the BCS the last weekend and blew it losing to 6-6 UCLA. 07 and 08 they were #1 at points during the season. Bad loses and weak SOS kept them from being in the mix down the stretch, they never the less won the Pac 10 and the Rose Bowl and finished in the top 4 both years.
No rational fans would be complaining if LSU's retooling meant going to BCS bowls and finishing in the top 4.
quote:
BTW- OU has lost 17 games since 2005. LSU has lost 15. OU has 0 NCs. LSU has 1. How are OU's results better than LSUs?
Fire Stoops.
Clearly you don't get it. If you can't see beyond records and scores its hard to explain it to you. Stoops took over a garbage program and made them National Champs, has had 2 Heisman winners and a top 5 program for a decade.
Despite your 2-3 year retooling theory. OU had a bad year in 2005 they followed that up with a 10-3 year, but won their conference. In 07 they again won the Big 12 and finsihed #4 in the bcs rankings. In 2008 they played in the NC.
I would certainly take that run after a NC.
