..I'll say it again , Its not the fact we lost 4 games , its the manner in which they were lost . Same can be said for the wins .
exactly, these meathead that look only at results a kidding themselves. Look at Miami with Uncle Fester or Tenn in the decade after Phat Phil won in 98.

true, but technically Les did better than Saban did with Saban's players
I wonder if that's because Saban left before the great classes he recruited in 2003 and 2004 developed? I forget, did Saban get here after we went 3-8 and 1-7 in the SEC or 2 years after winning a NC?

facts are bullshite anecdotes?
Saban took over an LSU team with some talent coming off back to back losing seasons and won our first NC in 45 years in year 4. He took over an Alabama team in better overall shape but one that had not won the SEC in 10 years and a NC in 17 and won in year 3 and has them poised for dominance for the next few years.
What program has Les built up?

No coach in the SEC since Bear Bryant has ever sustained the kind of success you guys are looking for.
Steve Spurrier has, Meyer is well on his way.

Meyer - "Well on his way" doesn't count. Let's see how he does without the best CFB player ever.
Spurrier - clearly the closest, but 1 NC in 11 years? Fine by me, but you guys would never let him stay around with that kind of futility. Also the rest of the SEC wasn't all that great back then.
Also, I'm sick of hearing about OU. Are you saying they've been more successful in the last 5 years than LSU? REALLY?

He didn't have Herschel Walker, or do you mean the Tebow, a guy he recruited? This just in it takes good players to win. He recruited Tebow, Harvin and Spikes.

Dude after all this back and forth you still Don't get it. Its not just about the final results. Me and several other have explained it over and over and over and you continue to throw out your preconceived notions. Spurrier. like Saban, Stoops and Mack Brown took over a program that was not in great shape and made it a power house. Did you know know Florida NEVER won an SEC title before Spurrier got there? He won 6. He also never had back to back 4 loss seasons. Do you get that part? Dispite your pet theory, most elite programs do not have 2-3 rebuilding or retooling years. They have 1.

No why don't you learn to read. If Stoops left after the 2004 season, his replacement would be under a lot more heat, however he didn't. Stoops gets more slack because of what he did before. He won the NC in 2000 and was a contender for it the next 4 years, had 1 bad year, another good 1 and was back in the NC game hunt. One of his 2 "retooling years" included a Conference title and BCS Bowl berth. I would rather win rather NC and then go 8-5, 9-4 than lose the title game 2 years in a row. However, a programs that wins the NC then goes 8-5 ad follows that up with a shaky 9-4 year with the #112 offense does not appear to be headed in the right direction.
