We would have four guys who will or could make an NFL roster. The problem is that all three of the young guys won’t stay together once the best one emerges

Max Johnson is never going to sniff the jockstrap of a practice squad qb. Zero pocket presence, below average arm, unreliable accuracy. Not an NFL player by any measure

I agree with you, but we only want the best to play anyway. We want guys who want to play at LSU, and those who don't mind competing for a starting spot. The bad thing is that many young men don't want to wait their turn, which is the real problem.

not being a “jack azz” just being real here, i would love for him to succeed but sometimes you just have to accept the fact that NFL qbs don’t grow on trees

Brennan has 3 career starts and a weak chest - making an NFL roster would be quite incredible. He belongs where he is in the portal.

What’s the problem exactly? Unless you’re a fluke like 2014 Ohio State you don’t win national championships on the back of QB depth. You win with a good+ starter whose backup may be asked to make meaningful plays in 1-3 games.

And Brennan will be in the same boat as Max as far as NFL is concerned. So let him go, time to turn and work on the future not a qb who couldn't sniff the field for 4 years and then couldn't stay healthy.

Maybe a solid qb coach could help?

We do not want or need Brennan back. We need several lineman that can actually block. And then Max or Nussmeir or Howard will do very well.

Other than Burrow Max has more 300 yard games… with zero running game. Pathetic pass blocking. And a group of receivers who don’t get much separation me drop a lot of balls

zero chance Max or Brennan make an NFL roster.

No shame in that -- very few college QBs make an NFL roster.

I know we love our guys, but we should be rational.

You’re right.
A lot don’t make it, but I’ve seen 3 on the Saints roster this year that, if that’s the level needed, Max is doing just fine.

Unbelievable what people say about a QB throwing behind a very weak offensive line.

I think we’re being unfair to Max.

Walker can throw it, but he needs to hit the weight room. He couldn't start as a freshman with his body right now.

His true sophomore numbers are better than Burrows redshirt junior numbers.

He’ll be fine
