On our last road game we lost to an average A&M team in a sloppy game, and the road game before that we barely beat a really shitty Arkansas team in a really sloppy game, the road game before that we lost to an average Florida team in a sloppy game, and the road game before that we won on the last second against an Auburn team that went on to lose four other games.

This year's Texas team is arguably better than all four of those teams.

That being said, I think this year's LSU team will win comfortably, because I've convinced myself that we are a lot better than last year's team, but we haven't really "deserved" respect lately.

But damnit, we beat the hell out of GA Southern! We should be the lead story in every football show, be ranked in the top 2, and have at least two players getting tons of heisman hype.

What respect have we not been getting? We started out ranked in the top 10 and are favored on the road in a top 10 match up.

I 100% agree. Some on here want to be mentioned with the Bama's and Clemson's of the world without actually winning the games that those 2 have won.

Some might mention UGA as getting more respect than us nationally but they have made the playoffs and given Bama a run for their money in 2 games while we have failed to be competitive with the Tide the last 2 years.

If we win the SEC, we will have earned the right to mentioned with the elite of college football. For now, we are lumped in with the other 5 or 6 teams that are good enough to compete but haven't done anything of note yet.

Have to keep winning. We haven't arrived until we get some hardware. Otherwise how's it any different from the other seasons?

Much of the lack of respect in the final years of Miles tenure was deserved IMO!

People have been giving a wait and see approach so far in the O era. This is fair. Looks to me that we are in a up trend. We will get deserved respect once we are able to beat the top teams (e.g. Alabama).

Respect is earned. We had a very good season last year and the potential to have a special season this year. Overall the last few years we can’t say we’ve done enough to be considered elite and deserve the respect of an “elite” team.

We finished the season ranked 6th, are currently ranked 6th, and are the consensus favorite on the road against a top 10 team. Not sure what more respect you think we currently “deserve.”

do you even listen to the media? Every single person slashed LSU's past 15 years after the GA Southern game because of our reputation. As far as top teams... we are.
