Yep. Just like when I hired on to my job. I’ve had multiple offers to double my pay over the years. Thank God I don’t have to worry about making that tough decision and have to stay put where I’m at

Well Lane said the reason that he came to LSU is because we offered the most money to pay players because the only way to win championships now is to pay the best players as recruiting them is not enough.

I don't like it, but I don't know what can be done about it. I also didn't think it was right to expect people work for free, doing something that could get them seriously hurt, while somebody else made a ton of money off it. That was never going to last forever. I acknowledge that the top players were always getting paid anyway (and I'm not talking about scholarships), but it was nothing like this.

The good news for y’all is y’all have a coach that has done a good job of getting portal players and keeping them for multiple years.

They weren’t working for free. They were getting scholarships and admission to a university that most would not have qualified for academically
Some top players may have been getting paid but it was pennys compared to the extortion going on today
