Still has the highest BA in school history. Better hitter than pitcher.

We have a shot. Let's just hope we don't catch a hot mid-major at the wrong time.

True. Can't top the best season in school history though. Beau Didier. 1-1 with a HR.

Hard to expect a championship any year with everything that can happen in Omaha, but this team comes very close with all the pieces we have. My expectations:

SEC championship (regular season and tournament)
National seed
Deep run in Omaha (semifinals or better)

Beau Didier is the GOAT single season. I've always said that. Unfortunately, you have to give the career nod to Collin.

Yeah, really hurt.

Last year we were saying the same thing about our releivers and they somehow got worse. Hopefully thats not the case this year.

AC was having his best year ever. Newman was as good as ever and Gilbert had a very solid season. Bugg started terrible but came on late.

Truthfully, it was our bullpen that won us a ton of games especially early when Lange and Poche couldn't get beyond the 5th inning.

This is the most complete team Mainieri has had besides '09 and '13.

Does that include the coaching staff comprised of young and inexperienced former Tigers?

Focus on getting to Omaha before thinking of winning it all.

Probably right, wouldn't want the fan bases lack of concentration on the task at hand to derail the season.

I felt considerably more optimistic of a title run in 2013 than this year.

No. I still think we are hurt with relief pitchers outside of Newman

The bullpen will be a strength this year.

This team doesn't have the top heavy talent that 2013 did but with 8/9 starters back, a great incoming freshman class, 2 front line starters, and veteran closer it's either now or never for Mainieri.

perhaps the fact manure couldn't get it done with that '13 squad is the reason for my lack of faith this year (and any other year as long as he's here). I'm trying, trying reaallllll hard ringo, to not be negative but he makes it hard man.

If ever there was a year, it was two years ago. That team was stacked... and only won one game at the CWS.
