The obvious answer is to press them, but FlauJ was obviously hurting last night. We have to double Betts and not let her get to her deep post position like Ole Miss did.

As I watched the NC State game I kept thinking we just looked like the better and more talented team..but we could just never put them away, it actually was a bit frustrating but in the end we flexed it. I mean - I know they were higher seeded than us but I don't think anyone watching that game could say we were not the more talented team.
Now, I don't think that's gonna be the case vs. UCLA. We won't be able to have the lapses like we had in the second quarter and most of the fourth quarter last night. We'll have to play like we did in the first and third quarter pretty much the whole game.

If LSU doesn’t want to play run and gun…they can play a zone and prevent the entry pass to the low block Betz is basically just a plodder who leans on the person guarding her. Dare the rest of the team to beat you and you win.
The real issue is LSU needs more than their big 3 to score. Need 15 pts from the bench and key minutes to rest the starters. As the big 3 and smith get winded in the 4th versus teams who have equal talent and lose(Texas/USCe etc) . Was nice to see made FT down the stretch as that has cost them several games a well like the UT game.

Spread the floor and run Betz big arse off pick and rolls all night and wear her out that way. On the other end do the old John Brady low post double (not a wing double), but don't do it every time keep em guessing.
And yes run....beat her down the floor and every time.

We don't seem to get much from the point guard position do we. Poa brings some energy defensively at times but other than that.....

I watched the OM game, and she was pulled from the game for a break in the first half and while the camera was on her while talking to a trainer you could clearly see she said, "I can't breathe, I'm so fricking tired".
Obviously, she still produced good numbers but most of it was her huge size advantage and the refs allowing her to use it. LSU will have to base their strategy on how the refs are calling the game.

I can assure you that CKM has not forgotten about that… I hope she serves up something special tomorrow for that UCLA coach.

Have you watched UCLA play to make this statement about Betts?

If we need Rosario to do anything then we are in trouble. Poor girl just doesn’t have it.

I get his point, LSU is going to have to push the pace ,
UCLA will win in a half court game .
I think the higher scoring game would favor LSU

I think Morrow is going to be effective. Trygger for NC State is 6'6", played for 25 minutes and had 2 pts and 5 rebounds. I get that Betts is better than Trygger but Morrow is a beast and will give her hell. LSU needs Sa'Myah to keep playing like she has, and they'll be OK.
