BS, there will be a run on hiring as fast as possible, just because you may be the "hitting coach" doesnt mean your arse isnt out there recruiting non stop in the summer...

I don’t buy all of this shite as an excuse. We had Dunn and cannizarro. Quit hiring former players that don’t have any coaching experience and maybe we will get somewhere. But no Paul has to hire his buddies like les and O have done.

What experience did Cannizaro have?

Canni was hired because of his scouting ability and recruiting. He just happened to be the hitting coach as well but that was the third thing on the check list for CPM when he hired him. He doesn’t put emphasis on a hitting coach. He puts emphasis on a pitching coach and recruiting. You may not agree with it and I’m not saying he is right but that is his thinking.

I absolutely do not agree with and I think it's ridiculous.

I would want emphasis on pitching, hitting, and recruiting.

I know why he was here. My point is, people love to talk of the lack of experience in the coaching staff but always bring up Andy as a reference. And I am here to remind everyone that he had zero coaching experience before he got to LSU.

Lack of experience doesn't mean you are a bad option.

With 3 paid coaches you can put a paid emphasis on that.

You're certainly welcome to your opinion, of course, but I'm curious, what is your Division I college baseball coaching experience and do you have more or fewer than 1,000 wins as a college baseball coach?

Plus base running/stealing knowledge and experience, that aspect of this team is really poor.

A.C. was a great college ball player, who excelled in a couple of things that he helped the LSU baseball team improve on while he coached here. His lack of experience also got him the head coaching job at MSU. His lack of coaching experience also got him to a regional final. All while having 9 pitchers injured during the season.
CPM won't hire A.C. because he would be a threat to take the head coaching job. Which would be a move that would be the shot in the arm this program needs now.

Jim Delaney is a cancer on college sports. Only the Big 10 ADs like him because he makes them money. Of course, that is his job, but still.

I’m still of the contention that part of the reason Cannizaro was hired at State was one last F U to CPM from John Cohen. Yea he was an up and coming coach but he paired him with a pitching coach with head coach experience in Gary Henderson. Then Cannizaro promptly ruined everything by being stupid and forced to resign.

I don’t think CPM won’t hire him because he is scared he may take his job. I think he won’t hire him because the way he left the program and the actions he showed after he left.

I also don’t get the people that say head coach X won’t hire assistant coach Y because he may take his job. If Coach Y does his job well then the team does well and Coach X isn’t going to get fired.

He would probably wait until the Hammer, Hal Hughes, is done with his LSU career so he can hire him as our hitting coach.

SOURCES: I’ve gotten a third confirmed ‘NO’ vote on the potential to have a third full-time assistant. The @BigWestBaseball will be a ‘NO’ vote. That’s a really bad look considering the #MWC #WAC #WCC and #Pac12 are fully on board.

Why don’t some conferences want it? Budget constraints?

I don't know if there's any interest or if he gives 2 shits but IMO Todd Walker would be a great hitting coach if not only for teaching an approach to the hitters, finding each player strike zone and sticking with it. I would bet a ton more walks and better BA.

They actually have the option to have the 3rd assistant be volunteer and not paid, and they still dont want to do it. Guessing they are worried top teams like lsu, miss st, etc will get another leg up on them by paying that assistant when they wont
